DHS Fang Bo B2 Carbon
Blade description:
The DHS Fang Bo Carbon is a composite blade featuring a 3+2 construction that utilizes an Arylate-Carbon weave. Often cited as a cost-effective alternative to professional-grade blades like the Hurricane Long 5, it offers a distinct, linear trajectory and a large sweet spot that provides more stability than traditional all-wood blades. While it is stiff and fast, it retains a tactile, “woody” feel, particularly on softer strokes, allowing for good feedback during short-game play.
Playing Characteristics
- Speed and Power: The blade excels in mid-distance play and loop-driving, offering significant power output that activates when engaging the composite layers.
- Trajectory and Feel: It typically produces a lower arc, which aids in aggressive, direct play, though some users may find the response slightly bouncy during close-to-the-table flicking or passive blocking.
- Surface and Construction: The blade features Limba outer plies, which contribute to its spin-generating capabilities and help maintain a natural feel despite the presence of carbon.
- Vibration: It provides a moderate amount of feedback, allowing the player to sense the ball, though it is generally perceived as having lower vibration levels typical of composite blades.
Handling and Maintenance
- Handle Design: The FL (flared) handle is noted for being narrow or small. Players with larger hands or those who prefer a more substantial grip often use overgrip tape to customize the fit.
- Durability: The outer Limba ply is relatively thin and can be prone to splintering or damage during rubber removal. It is recommended to apply a thin layer of lacquer or sealant to the surface to prevent damage when changing rubbers.
- Weight Distribution: The blade is generally well-balanced; however, when paired with heavy rubbers, it can feel slightly head-heavy. Using lighter or medium-weight rubbers is often recommended to maintain optimal handling characteristics.

This blade is definitely a bang for the money, especially compared with HL5 or other more expensive blades!

Doesn’t have a lot of inner carbon characteristics. It has a very muted feeling and is stiff. However, it provides very good spin and speed.
