The Loki Kirin K2 has an amazing feel, allowing for excellent ball control. It is a rather soft blade, though.
While not the fastest blade I have ever used, I didn’t find it slow at all. I can loop underspin with ease.
I am amazed by how good and cheap this blade is!
Loki’s three new blades, Kirin1, 2, and 3, are by far the prettiest you can buy for under $10. My K2 weighs 82g (“extra light” selected).
Its club face measures 158 x 150 mm, and the flared handle is suitable for average-sized hands. Since I generally deburr all blades on the handle and club face, I immediately noticed that the outer veneer is extremely soft. Therefore, the club face should ideally be sealed!
In conclusion, it’s a mystery to me how such a blade can be offered on the market for such a low price. It is definitely recommended for beginners and bargain hunters! ;-P
Addendum: The hardness of K2 is almost identical to K3, while K1 is significantly harder and more direct! I think the glued lens is somehow reminiscent of that of the Butterfly Fan Zhendong blade series… very nice!
It is the perfect example of a well-balanced 5-ply blade. It’s not too fast and not too soft, offering a lot of feel with no huge vibrations.
If you want your first 5-ply blade, go with this one before you buy something expensive.
Good for beginners.
