Stiga Inspira Plus

Comparing against Viscaria because they are the same composition, the Inspira Plus seems to have a slightly clearer feeling making blocking and counter attacking feel a touch more secure, it’s a bit more flexible. The feeling is still very similar though, it does not feel similar to an inner fiber blade and the speed is very close to Viscaria.

Side by side compared to a Viscaria, the biggest difference is in the handle design, more or less the normal Stiga handle but a touch thicker near the top of the handle. The Viscaria handle feels fuller and shorter in the hand. I have very large hands and prefer the Inspira Plus handle but it’s really down to personal preference.

If you’re considering buying a Viscaria and want to play with firmer rubbers like Hurricane or you like Stiga handle designs, I would consider it. The only major downside is that at the time of this review it is exclusive to the Chinese market so you will have to order through a proxy or take a vacation if you can’t buy one locally.

I got one from Prott that weighs 90 grams. The quality on mine seems fine. I really like it; it has a very crisp feel with great control. I put Battle 2 provincial blue sponge on it and had some lightweight Vega rubber laying around for the backhand (BH).

The blade is slightly head heavy, but it feels good, even though I’m not used to that. I was playing with a Dynasty Carbon before that was good, but frankly, it was too heavy. This feels a lot faster in comparison but has less dwell and woody feel (but still a good amount).

This thing is a beast on the BH. I really like it. Like the reviewer before me, I have large hands and like Stiga FL handles. This one is made in China and has a slightly (very slightly) shorter handle than my Dynasty Carbon, but it still fits my hand fine. The handle thickness feels spot on.

In my opinion, this is a great crisp blade and worth checking out.
