Tibhar Samsonov Techno Power Contact
Blade description:
This all-wood blade is designed as a combination bat, specifically engineered to provide different performance characteristics on the forehand and backhand sides. With an overall speed profile categorized between ALL+ and OFF-, it balances offensive potential with high levels of control. The construction features Limba outer plies and a thick center core resembling balsa, which provides a distinct catapult effect during active play.
Construction and Feel
- Composition: All-wood construction with a 5.6 mm thickness.
- Tactile Response: Features a noticeable catapult effect due to the core material. The blade is characterized as relatively stiff rather than flexible.
- Balance: The weight distribution is balanced, contributing to a comfortable feel during varied stroke play including hitting, blocking, and chopping.
Performance Characteristics
- Asymmetrical Performance: The blade is intentionally built to be faster on the forehand side and slightly slower on the backhand, assisting players who struggle with overshooting on backhand blocks or maintaining power from a distance on the forehand.
- Versatility: Suitable for modern defensive styles as well as all-round offensive play. The consistent control allows for safe chopping and precise placement, making it a viable option for a wide range of skill levels from beginners to advanced players prioritizing control over raw power.
- Quality Note: Users should be aware of potential manufacturing inconsistencies regarding the flatness of the blade face, as some units may exhibit a slight curve.

I like this blade. The speed, feeling, and weight are ideal for me, and it’s unique because of the different speeds between the forehand and backhand sides. It’s an ideal choice if you want to enjoy a variety of strokes: hit, block, and chop safely. Next time, maybe I’ll try long pips on this blade.

Base class All +, Off-. Average weight, good speed, excellent control. The speed on both sides is the same, although they write that it is different. In texture, the outer layers are limba, the central layer is thick - similar to balsa, with a catapult effect when hitting. The base is not flexible, thickness around 5.6 mm. On the forehand side, I put Imperial Swift 1.8 mm, on the backhand side Nittaku Magic Carbon 2.0 mm. I liked everything in the game.
