Blade description:

The Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition is a high-quality, 7-ply all-wood offensive blade designed for versatile attackers. Frequently compared to classic clipper-style blades, it offers a balanced playing experience that prioritizes control, stability, and reliable feedback, making it an excellent option for players who want to maintain the woody feel while seeking an upgrade in performance.

Playing Characteristics

  • Performance: Positioned at the lower end of the offensive speed range, this blade provides a consistent mix of power and control. It is particularly effective for close-to-table and mid-distance play, offering enough speed for aggressive loops and smashes without sacrificing stability in the short game.
  • Feel and Dwell: The blade is known for its clear, woody touch and intuitive impact feedback. It provides moderate dwell time, which assists in creating spin, while its stiffness ensures that power is delivered directly when the player engages in active, full-amplitude strokes.
  • Blocking: It is highly regarded as a “block machine.” The blade remains stable against incoming power, allowing players to redirect fast shots with precision and high control.

Construction and Design

  • Composition: This is a 7-ply all-wood blade.
  • Weight and Balance: While weight can vary by individual piece, it often trends toward being slightly head-heavy. This design choice contributes to its powerful, repulsive force during aggressive shots, though it may require players to have solid physical conditioning to maintain agility during fast transitions.
  • Workmanship: The handle is frequently noted for its comfort and ergonomic shape, often praised for being more refined and well-finished than that of many competing brands. The overall build quality is highly regarded, offering a premium feel at a competitive price point.

The blade is versatile regarding rubber pairings and performs well with both modern European tensor rubbers and harder Chinese-style tacky rubbers. It is best suited for intermediate to advanced players who have developed their technique and are looking for a reliable, “do-it-all” wooden blade that rewards consistent form.

At the moment this is my best option. Before that, I had (and now I have) a Viscaria with Dignics 09 °C and Dignics 05, but it is too fast for me. On this blade forehand I have Nittaku Fastarc G-1, on the backhand Xiom Vega Europe. Optimal assembly for me, I spent a lot of money to find it. Good control, the balls fly where I hit them. On the left, I like to hit balls off the table, so the Xiom with a soft sponge is best for this. On the right, G-1 is controlled fast, but not as good as Dignics 09 °C. Good combination, try it, you will save a lot of time.

Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition had excellent reviews, and that made me select this blade. I thought this blade could be a heavy blade with a bulky handle since it has a special edition with a smaller handle. However, the flared handle was normal in size, fitted comfortably in my hands, and the blade was lighter compared to my Stiga Titanium Master blade, which was heavy and had a thicker handle. Playing has become easier with smoother transition between forehand and backhand. I thought that I could not handle this blade with MXP rubbers, but the speed was comparable with the Stiga racket with Donic M1 rubbers. Thanks for the excellent service from the Table Tennis 11 team. The product was ordered during the holiday season, but I was surprised to get the product early as a New Year gift. Thanks!
