Performance Characteristics

The Samsonov Force Pro is an all-wood blade featuring a 7-ply Limba/Ayous construction. It is widely recognized as a versatile, offensive-oriented blade that excels in a balanced game of speed, spin, and touch. Players often note its effectiveness for aggressive topspin, looping, and counter-looping, particularly at close-to-table and mid-distance ranges. While it offers sufficient power for finishing points, it remains highly controllable, allowing for precise service, pushes, and short-game variations.

Feel and Handling

This blade is characterized by a solid, medium-stiff feel with enough inherent flexibility to provide good dwell time, which enhances spin production during looping. Compared to harder, carbon-composite blades, the Samsonov Force Pro offers a more natural, wood-based feedback that many players find superior for touch shots. The weight distribution is generally well-balanced, though individual experiences may vary based on the specific gram weight of the piece.

Compatibility

  • Rubber Pairing: The blade is versatile and pairs effectively with a wide range of rubbers, from softer, spin-oriented options to harder, modern tension rubbers like the Evolution series or Hurricane 3.
  • Skill Level: It is accessible enough for intermediate players seeking to improve their loop-driving consistency, yet powerful enough to serve as a primary blade for advanced offensive players.
  • Usage Notes: Users should be prepared for a brief adjustment period to calibrate their stroke, particularly when transitioning from slower or significantly stiffer blades, as it rewards active, through-the-sponge hitting.

I am a 1200 level player. I consider myself an advanced beginner or low-level intermediate. I can play with the 1500-1600 level guys and sometimes win, but my stroke techniques are not consistent enough yet, and consequently I make quite a few unforced errors. So this blade is light, has excellent feeling, control, and adequate speed. The flared handle is also quite good. Vega Europe and Rakza 7 Soft on the blade. It plays beautifully with these soft rubbers. I have also tried Donic JP-02 on the forehand and Evo MX-D on the backhand. The blade seems to work even better with these faster “harder” rubbers. I own over 30 blades from very fast carbon blades to slower all-wood blades. This blade is very near the top and is a blade I can really create and control with.

Great blade for all-around players. It is very well balanced and plays well with any rubbers. It’s a must-try blade for that price.

Sehr gutes Ballgefühl, guter Katapulteffekt, sehr gut für Spinspiel und Topspin.
