Yasaka Musashi
Blade description:
The Yasaka Musashi is an all-wood, Japanese penhold blade constructed from a single ply of 9mm Hinoki cypress. Designed with a traditional long head shape and a cork handle, this blade offers a balance between offensive power and touch-based control. Its single-ply construction provides a soft, distinct feel that facilitates high precision during delicate shots, such as serves, pushes, and returns.
Playing Characteristics
- Speed and Power: Despite its soft feel, the blade is capable of producing significant speed for long-distance smashes and aggressive loop-driving. It remains stable during high-speed rallies, allowing players to transition effectively between close-to-the-table play and mid-to-long distance attacks.
- Touch and Feel: The inherent softness of the Hinoki wood provides excellent feedback. This makes the blade highly maneuverable for backhand blocks and allows for accurate placement in short game situations.
- Flex and Trajectory: The blade exhibits enough flex to assist in generating heavy topspin during loops, and it is noted for producing a high throw angle, which can be particularly effective for offensive loop-drivers.
- Handling: Due to its manageable weight and the properties of the wood, the blade allows for rapid transitions between forehand and backhand, offering a high level of agility for the penhold style.

An amazing product for the price! It has good quality cypress wood with the classic long head and handle. This blade is perfect for all-around and offensive play.
I used this blade for about 5 years with Acuda S3. I remember having good control and touch with this setup. I could also finish the point both at and away from the table.
I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a well-balanced J-pen.

My first ever table tennis blade. I used to use tons of speed glue with either Midshid or Mark V GPS. Nowadays, I use a Calibra LT Plus.
The blade has a really high throw, which makes blocks tricky. However, I think it excels at doing loop drives.
The blade is of high quality. After many years, it still looks like new.

This blade is like an offensive Japanese penhold version of the Extra blade, making it extremely balanced. It offers good control, a soft feel for touch shots, and some flex for creating loops. It’s a solid choice for loopers and drivers who want to dominate their opponents on the court.
