Yasaka Sweden Extra
Blade description:
The Yasaka Sweden Extra is a highly regarded 5-ply all-wood blade designed for players who prioritize touch, feedback, and consistent control. It is widely considered an excellent choice for beginners developing their technique, as well as intermediate and advanced players who prefer an all-round offensive game.
Performance Characteristics
- Feel and Feedback: This blade is renowned for its exceptional ball feel and distinct wood vibrations, providing players with clear feedback during every stroke. Its flex and dwell time facilitate high-quality looping and touch play, particularly in the short game and near-table situations.
- Speed and Power: Categorized as an ALL+ blade, it offers a moderate speed level. While it may lack the raw power of carbon composite blades for rallies far from the table, it generates sufficient pace to finish points when paired with modern, faster rubbers.
- Versatility: The blade performs well across a full spectrum of strokes, including chops, blocks, serves, and offensive loops. It is notably reliable and predictable, making it a “do-it-all” tool that supports a wide range of playing styles.
Build and Construction
- Construction: As a classic 5-ply all-wood blade, it lacks the bouncy or rigid feel of composite blades. This allows for a more linear, controllable response that rewards proper technique and footwork.
- Design: The blade features high-quality craftsmanship with a well-finished surface. It is light and well-balanced, though users should note that the handle dimensions may vary, and the wood is relatively soft, which may require care to prevent dents during accidental table contact.
- Customization: Because the blade is very “honest” regarding the input of the player, it is highly sensitive to rubber selection. Users can easily transform its behavior from a purely controlled setup to an aggressive offensive weapon by swapping softer, control-oriented rubbers for harder, high-speed tensors.

Excellent racket.

Using this blade with Rakza 7 2mm for forehand and Rakza 7 Soft 2mm for backhand is perfect for beginner to intermediate skilled players. Not too fast, not too slow, it has a very good balance between speed and control. I am very pleased with the product received and with the service provided by Tabletennis11.
