The Yasaka Sweden Extra is a distinguished 5-ply all-wood blade, expertly crafted in Sweden, designed for players who value control and precision over sheer speed. This blade is a fantastic choice for developing players and intermediates seeking to enhance their technique and gameplay. With a speed rating of 82 and a control rating of 71, it allows for excellent manipulation of the ball, making it particularly effective for close-to-table play and controlled looping.
In terms of composition, the Sweden Extra is primarily wooden, weighing in at a lightweight 84 grams with a thickness of approximately 5.6mm. The blade demonstrates moderate stiffness (3.5) and hardness (4.7), resulting in a balanced feel that absorbs vibrations while providing sufficient feedback for accurate shot placement. Players have noted that the blade’s flexibility contributes to its ability to generate spin, crucial for executing effective serves and loops.
For those seeking alternatives, the Yasaka Sweden Extra competes well with other blades in the same category, such as the Stiga Allround Classic and the Nittaku Violin. Its exceptional price-to-performance ratio makes it a standout option for those not wanting to overspend on their equipment. Many reviews emphasize the blade’s craftsmanship and sealed finish, adding to its overall aesthetic appeal while ensuring durability. Overall, the Yasaka Sweden Extra is a versatile, reliable choice for players at various skill levels, offering a blend of control, spin, and adequate power—all without breaking the bank.
Excellent racket.
Using this blade with Rakza 7 2mm for forehand and Rakza 7 Soft 2mm for backhand is perfect for beginner to intermediate skilled players. Not too fast, not too slow, it has a very good balance between speed and control. I am very pleased with the product received and with the service provided by Tabletennis11.
