Yinhe N-8s
Blade description:
This is an all-wood blade featuring a 5-ply construction of Koto, Fir, and Ayous. It is designed as an accessible, versatile option, primarily serving players who prioritize control and consistency. Users report a weight range of approximately 88–90 grams, providing a solid, balanced feel that is suitable for both defensive-oriented play and controlled all-round tactics.
Playing Characteristics
- Feel and Stiffness: The blade is characterized by a relatively stiff, hard feel, which some users compare to “cement.” While this lack of dwell time can be challenging for those seeking high-arc spin generation, it offers stability for flat hitting and blocking.
- Speed and Control: While often categorized as an All+ blade, performance can lean toward the Off- spectrum depending on the pairing of rubbers. It offers predictable behavior during passive play, making it effective for touch shots and defensive techniques like chopping, especially when paired with long pips.
- Rubber Pairing: The blade performs best with softer rubbers, which help compensate for the inherent stiffness and improve the feel of the ball during contact. Using harder, tacky rubbers can lead to a significant decrease in touch and sensitivity.
Practical Recommendations
Given the nature of the wood, applying a sealant is recommended to protect the blade surface. It is a highly budget-conscious option that serves as a functional tool for beginners learning the fundamentals or for budget-minded modern defenders looking for a stable platform for versatile, spin-oriented, or defensive playstyles.

Soft rubbers work well for this blade. I use Yinhe 9000D on the forehand (FH) and Moon Pro Soft on the backhand (BH). Control is good, and the speed is also good (I guess it’s ALL+). My recommendation for you is to use Yinhe 9000D on both FH & BH since it’s cheaper than Moon Pro Soft, but the difference is not really significant in my opinion (Moon Pro Soft has more speed).

Just bought this blade, which turned out to be disappointing. Paired with H3 Neo on forehand and Sanwei T-88i on the backhand, the blade seemed to be hard like cement. I had no feel, the touch play was horrible, and worst of all, the spin was also terrible. Maybe this blade is suitable for flat hitters. Yinhe N11s is way better for me.

Got this blade in order to make some beginner’s paddles and sell them. Unfortunately, it seems a bit too fast for that. From my point of view, speed is closer to off- and not all+ as the above rating. I got two of them, both similar.
Nice finish, nice all-wood blades. Weight around 88-90 grams, nice feeling, no weird vibration. It’s a bit too hard, but I guess it’s the norm for Galaxy blades.
Good blades for the money. For all+ blades, I think the N-10 is more like it.
