This rubber provides an opportunity to try a hybrid from Butterfly without investing in Dignics 09C. While its characteristics fall slightly short of the aforementioned overlay, it offers a similar feel, which is one of its key advantages.

However, a significant drawback of this rubber is its limited lifespan. While Dignics 09C transitions to 05 over time, this overlay deteriorates to a point where it becomes disposable.

This rubber offers a unique sensation due to its extremely hard sponge. To achieve high speed, you will need to apply significant force to your strokes. It evokes memories of the earlier PF-4 version. Its playstyle closely resembles that of an unboosted Chinese rubber. The reason for BTY’s production of this rubber, which is characterized by its heaviness, hardness, and decent but not exceptional control, remains unclear.

The rubber excels in short games thanks to its excellent spin capabilities. However, it lacks speed unless you exert a considerable amount of effort. When used on a Timo Boll Spirit blade, it contributes to a heavier weight and a somewhat unresponsive feeling for backhand shots. This rubber may not suit everyone’s preferences, but it exhibits high quality and may appeal to certain players due to its specific characteristics.

Looping with this rubber demands a proficient technique to optimize its performance. It effectively counters serves with its impressive spin capabilities. Despite its unconventional nature, this rubber stands out as a peculiar entry within the Butterfly lineup.

I use this rubber on the Butterfly Zhang Jike Super ZLC and enjoy it very much. For me, the throw angle is low, requiring me to hit the ball more upwards than with most rubbers. Abiss is not particularly sensitive to spin, allowing me to be less cautious about the spin on the ball when looping. I find this rubber exceptional for countering topspin and counter-looping.

Despite being paired with the Zhang Jike Super ZLC, the rubber remains relatively slow, necessitating good technique. Additionally, it is quite heavy. I recommend pairing this rubber with a fast blade to compensate for its slow speed or training your technique with a slower blade.

Initially, I used it on a Stiga Clipper Wood for five months before switching to the Zhang Jike Super ZLC.
