Butterfly Catapult

Rubber description:

Butterfly Catapult is a high-performance table tennis rubber designed for offensive players seeking a balance between speed, spin, and control. With a speed rating of 11 and a spin rating of 9, it offers impressive offensive capabilities, allowing players to generate powerful shots and create devastating spin.

Despite its offensive orientation, the Catapult also provides remarkable control, rated at 8.7. This makes it an excellent choice for players who demand precision and consistency in their shots. The rubber's tackiness level of 2.3 contributes to its controllability, enabling players to impart precise spin and execute delicate touches.

The Catapult's sponge hardness rating of 2.1 indicates a medium-soft sponge that offers a good balance between speed and control. This sponge characteristic suits players who prefer a combination of power and finesse in their game.

Forum reviews praise the Catapult's impressive throw angle, rated at 3.4. This means that the rubber generates a higher ball trajectory, allowing players to create more arc and spin on their shots. This makes it particularly effective for topspin loops and long-range attacking.

While the Catapult is known for its offensive prowess, it does have a slightly lower durability rating of 5.7. Some users have noted that the rubber may not last as long as other high-end options. However, its overall rating of 8.4 reflects its excellent performance in terms of speed, spin, control, and consistency.

Overall, the Butterfly Catapult is an ideal choice for offensive players seeking a versatile rubber that delivers a balanced combination of speed, spin, and control. Its medium-soft sponge and high throw angle make it suitable for a wide range of playing styles.

My favorite high tension rubber from Butterfly is a standout choice for table tennis enthusiasts. With a softness rating of 32 degrees, it offers a slightly spongy feel that many players appreciate.

One of its most impressive features is the ability to generate excellent spin. The soft sponge allows the ball to sink in, resulting in a more controlled and dynamic spin. However, the soft sponge can also create a slight “trampoline effect,” which may not be suitable for everyone.

Overall, this rubber is well-suited for all-around power play, making it a versatile option for a variety of playing styles.

After some time searching and trying out different rubbers, I finally found the perfect one for my backhand.

This rubber provides a great deal of control and a wonderful feel. You can definitely experience the catapult effect, although not nearly as pronounced as when using glue. Additionally, the sound it produces is quite pleasant, even without adhesive.

It gives me the control I need for my backhand while also delivering adequate speed.

Moreover, it is an excellent choice for opening up against backspin.

The only downside is its durability; it tends to lose its grip after a while, and it is not particularly inexpensive.
