Butterfly Super Anti (Anti-spin)
Rubber description:
This is an anti-spin rubber characterized by a firm, solid topsheet paired with a very soft, dead sponge. Its primary function is to neutralize incoming spin and drastically reduce the speed of the ball, making it a highly effective tool for slowing down the tempo of a rally and forcing opponents to contend with unpredictable, “dead” balls.
Playing Characteristics
- Spin and Reversal: While it functions as an anti-spin rubber, its ability to reverse incoming spin is dependent on technique. Users note that while it can return heavy spin with a dead quality, it still requires active chopping motions to handle significant topspin effectively, rather than relying solely on passive blocking.
- Speed and Dwell: It is widely considered one of the slowest rubbers in its category, which makes it excellent for close-to-the-table blocking and absorbing the energy of heavy loops. The soft sponge provides a unique, dampened feel that offers high control during defensive sequences.
- Offensive Versatility: Despite its slow nature, the rubber allows for effective flat hitting. It is specifically noted for its ability to transition between defensive pushing or chopping and sudden flat-hit attacks, which can catch opponents off guard.
- Consistency and Feel: The rubber is known for its high-quality construction and consistent, predictable touch. While some users find it difficult to master due to the extreme lack of speed, it is highly valued by defensive players for its reliability in returning serves and executing consistent chops.

It’s a good anti-spin rubber. Solid, controlled, and consistent. Lovely feeling. Chops well. Hits flat. Hits very well, and it’s easy to change from defensive to attack. That makes for a useful defensive rubber.
If you are a good anti-player who can use anti-spin well, it’s a pretty good choice.
Another good anti-spin rubber is neo anti. I have two set-ups now using both models.

As the name suggests, Butterfly Super Anti is an anti-spin rubber, which has the limitations inherent to this type of rubber.
Despite its soft sponge, it can return heavy attacks reasonably well - at least the opponent’s first heavy stroke. Highly skilled players may overcome this by executing several fast attacking shots in succession, forcing you out of position. However, such play requires a high level of skill.
Combining Butterfly Super Anti with a tacky backside rubber allows you to take advantage of the contrast between heavy spin and dead balls. Twiddling the racket between the two surfaces would be particularly effective.
Overall, Butterfly Super Anti is a good anti-spin rubber of high quality.
Please Note:
The sponge of this rubber is exceptionally soft.

WORST Anti rubber out there. Doesn’t do anything. Dead rubber.
