Butterfly Tackifire Drive

Rubber description:

This is a sticky rubber that functions as a versatile, all-round tool, particularly favored by defensive and control-oriented players. It features a mildly tacky surface that facilitates significant spin production, especially when executing serves, chops, and controlled loops.

Playing Characteristics

  • Tactile Feedback: The topsheet exhibits a degree of tackiness, which assists in spin generation and provides a consistent feel during short-game exchanges.
  • Control and Defensive Utility: It is highly regarded for its performance in blocking, cutting, and defensive chopping. The rubber offers a stable, predictable response that excels in passive play near the net.
  • Offensive Limitations: While it is capable of looping and flat hitting, its overall pace is moderate. Attacking players looking for high-velocity offensive power may find the rubber lacking in speed, as it is better suited for placement and tactical play rather than raw power.
  • Consistency: The rubber is noted for its reliability, making it a suitable choice for all-rounders who prioritize accuracy and ball placement over aggressive speed.

Very Interesting Rubber

I play this rubber on my backhand. It has a slightly tacky surface. It performs very well when blocking and allows for substantial spin. Looping is generally easy, although it can be a bit slow.

I had a quick hit with my friend’s bat, which had this rubber on his forehand. He’s a very defensive player, relying on chops and spin to win. He played well with it, but from an attacking point of view, I found it dead and hard to loop with. It is designed for defensive players only, so I won’t give it an overall score as it’s not suited to my style of play.

However, after another hit with it, I realized that it’s great for chopping and defense, and also not bad for blocking and looping. While it’s still not my favorite, it’s a good rubber for defensive players.
