Review text:
Very Interesting Rubber
I play this rubber on my backhand. It has a slightly tacky surface. It performs very well when blocking and allows for substantial spin. Looping is generally easy, although it can be a bit slow.
I had a quick hit with my friend’s bat, which had this rubber on his forehand. He’s a very defensive player, relying on chops and spin to win. He played well with it, but from an attacking point of view, I found it dead and hard to loop with. It is designed for defensive players only, so I won’t give it an overall score as it’s not suited to my style of play.
However, after another hit with it, I realized that it’s great for chopping and defense, and also not bad for blocking and looping. While it’s still not my favorite, it’s a good rubber for defensive players.
Lovely rubber for back-hand to have good control for blocking & cuts near the net. Also, you can attack whenever you want to. You can also hit flat on forehand. The best control rubber for an all-round player.
Nice average defensive rubber, very consistent! Fast attacking players will be very disappointed with this rubber.
I have no idea what the excitement is all about. At best, it’s average. It’s not cheap, it’s not fast, not (overly) spinny, and not great control.
Try a Stiga Magna instead. It’s got the speed and spin that the Tackifire wishes it has.
I had a sheet of red in 2.1 sponge and did not speed glue. Frankly, this was a good rubber, but at the price, it was nothing special. It was no better than a number of rubbers I have used.
It was okay to good for looping, serving, and short game. I probably had too high of expectations, but it did not impress me.
