Well, this rubber is quite dead without boosting. However, when boosted, it doubles all the original aspects: speed, spin, and tackiness, while the hardness remains the same. The feeling after boosting is terrific; I liked it a lot. If you are planning to test this rubber, do not forget to boost it.
The rubber allows for amazing opening shots, nice serves, and very controlled topspin forehand drives. It produces a beautiful clicking sound reminiscent of the old speed glue days.
I rated the rubber based on its performance when boosted.
27/01/2023.
I stumbled upon this rubber while browsing the internet, and what attracted me to it was the soft medium sponge, which I believed would suit my blades perfectly. I have a collection of carbon and fast blades, so I felt this rubber would enhance my game. My only concern was the price; it was selling for £23.99 on eBay UK, which I found to be quite pricey given that I need several rubbers for my collection. Therefore, I ordered this rubber from AliExpress for £17.22, which took two weeks to arrive.
When I received the rubber and opened the package, my first impression was the quality of both the black and red rubbers. The red rubber is slightly heavier at 65 grams, while the black weighs 55 grams. Assembling the rubber onto my blade, I realized it is not a built-in glue rubber or a tensor, so I expected it to be slow. I also noted its tackiness. I used a Palio 05 carbon blade and glued the rubber with seven layers of water-based speed glue.
I used the bat for two hours during training two days later, and I was impressed by the quality of the rubber. I started with forehands and was pleased with the pace. What stood out to me was the control. The topspin was fast, depending on how hard I swung, and it was quick enough to put the ball away. The backhand was similar, but I found it to be excellent for control. If you possess a weak backhand, this rubber will undoubtedly improve it.
Another striking feature is how the ball sticks to the rubber. I was so impressed that I reordered another set of rubbers for another carbon blade. This is one of the best rubbers I have used in a long time. Respect to Hurricane!
I applied it to my Wang Hao 3 racket. The looping capabilities are acceptable, and the control is good. However, the blocking performance is lacking due to the soft sponge. I believe that using a medium sponge could potentially enhance both blocking and defensive capabilities.
This rubber is an excellent choice for training and improving topspin technique. One of its standout features is the absence of a catapult effect, which means the ball travels precisely as you hit it. This quality allows for immediate recognition of any errors, making it ideal for players looking to refine their skills.
Additionally, the lack of catapult effect eliminates the unexpected and inexplicable misses that beginners often experience with more aggressive rubbers. Players will find that executing blocks is very easy; however, it’s worth noting that the rubber may result in a weaker smash.
No, definitely no. I made a wrong choice with this rubber. It is useless for me; it’s not good for my backhand and even worse for my forehand.
Okay, it has good spin, but what else? It has very little catapult effect, and I find its control when looping to be poor. Additionally, it does not put any pressure on my opponents.
I think there’s a significant difference between boosting a H3N to soften the sponge and using a soft sponge like this H3-50. This rubber offers none of the benefits found in high-quality options. It lacks the speed and sponge engagement characteristic of European tensors, nor does it have the aggressive features of Chinese rubbers like the H3N.
Moreover, it is challenging to control since it is highly sensitive to incoming spin.
The surface of the rubber is a traditional Chinese tacky rubber. However, in this case, the sponge is soft. This combination is not ideal. The tacky surface is only suitable for forehand play, but the soft sponge causes the ball to bounce quickly.
With a tacky rubber, you typically need dwell time to properly control the ball. Unfortunately, the soft sponge does not provide this necessary dwell time.
The review describes a very different hybrid table tennis rubber that is incredibly easy to use. It is suitable for both backhand (bh) and forehand (fh) strokes. The rubber offers decent speed without being too slow.
I have the Max Red Soft Rubber, and there are several observations I would like to share.
Firstly, this rubber is very sensitive to incoming spin, which can significantly impact your game. It does not respond well to active chops and loops. While blocks and controlled strokes, such as medium pushes, blocks, and mid-table drives, work reasonably well, receiving serves requires a soft touch and precise control. Unfortunately, after just two or three chop rallies, the ball often flies long.
Looping with this rubber almost always results in the ball going high or out of bounds. This issue arises due to either excessive sensitivity or insufficient spin generation.
In comparison, H3 Neo is vastly superior to this rubber, which feels like a poor imitation of ESN rubbers and sponges.
If you’re looking for the best Chinese rubber, you would be better off looking elsewhere. If your goal is to serve, kill, or execute a flip or flick attack, I strongly advise against using this rubber for top-spin, counter-hit, or counter-topspin shots.
This is a great rubber offered at a very affordable price compared to others on the market.
Some people may describe it as slow, as its tackiness plays an important role when playing close to the table. However, when you hit the ball hard, it bounces quite quickly. Thus, while slow hits may feel sluggish, fast hits generate impressive speed.
Overall, this is an excellent rubber choice.
I use this rubber with a Galaxy T11+. I apply it on my forehand (FH) while utilizing short pips on the backhand (BH). This rubber also performs admirably as a backhand rubber. The blade is fast and hard, so the soft rubber provides excellent control for this setup.
I’ve tried Tenergy and Tensor rubbers on this blade, but this rubber works the best for me. Control, control, control! The short game is exceptional due to its tackiness, and it has just enough catapult effect to make blocks effective while maintaining precise placement. It is also good for handling slower serves.
While it doesn’t push as well as Tenergy, particularly when it comes to executing a low, spinny, fast deep push, the control during push shots is excellent. When looping, I can swing my hardest with confidence, knowing the ball will hit the table. With Tensors or the Tenergy series, I often hesitate to swing hard because I’m concerned the ball won’t land. In this case, a softer rubber allows my game to become faster.
This rubber is fantastic for backhand flicks! When paired with the pips, I feel confident in twiddling, as this rubber feels safe on both sides. In contrast, when I use my other rubbers, having this rubber on my forehand makes my control deteriorate significantly. Overall, this is a great rubber when paired with the right blade!
Excellent for long-distance counter-loops. This rubber provides exceptional spin and control, making it ideal for players who enjoy aggressive play. The reliable performance enhances your ability to execute powerful shots, ensuring you can dominate the game from a distance.
I use this rubber for defense with an Andro Temper Tech ALL+.
It offers great control, exceptional chopping ability, impressive spin on serves, and a solid short game. Although the topspins are not as sharp as those produced with the normal H3, the enhanced control allows for effective point placement.
