The Donic Bluefire JP 01 Turbo is a modern table tennis rubber designed for players who demand exceptional speed and impressive spin. With a speed rating of 97 and a spin rating of 98, this rubber excels in offensive play, making it a favorite among aggressive players. The rubber features a high-performance topsheet with a specialized sponge that delivers a powerful response, enabling players to generate tremendous spin on loops and aggressive shots. It has received an impressive overall rating of 9.2, indicating its effectiveness on the table.
In terms of tackiness, the Bluefire JP 01 Turbo is moderately tacky with a rating of 3.8, which balances spin production with control. The weight of the rubber is classified as medium, weighing around 50 grams cut, a factor that some players have noted makes it slightly less maneuverable than other options. However, many users have reported a good level of consistency and control, essential for executing precise shots. The durability of the Bluefire JP 01 Turbo is rated at 8, with players generally finding it to withstand regular use without suffering significant wear.
For players seeking alternatives, while the Bluefire JP 01 Turbo is an outstanding option, competitors like the Butterfly Tenergy series, specifically the T05, and the Donic Bluestorm series may offer different textures and performance for varying playing styles. Some reviews, however, suggest that for players prioritizing responsiveness and spin, the JP 01 Turbo stands out despite concerns over its weight and slight drop in performance after extended use. Overall, this rubber is ideal for attackers looking to enhance their game with powerful shots from mid-distance.
I’ve used all four Donic Bluefire JP rubbers: 01T, 01, 02, and 03. I used them all on the forehand of a Bty. Taksim, ALC blade. I recently tried the JP01 Turbo.
It’s not as good as the JP01 or 02 in terms of topspin, hit, and block. It’s also much heavier than the 01. It’s not as user-friendly as the other rubbers in the JP series. That may be why it’s often on sale and cheaper than the JP01. It’s also a little older generation of rubbers now.
Before this, I used a Bty. Rozena. For its price, it’s surprisingly good in performance. I’d highly recommend the Rozena over the JP 01T!
This rubber is an excellent forehand or backhand rubber. It’s perfect for looping and gives good safety over the net. The kind of comments I’ve been getting with this rubber from even my coach is that the ball moves half a meter after the bounce and is really hard to get back. I would recommend this to loopers looking for more speed and spin.
Update 16/06/2019: After using this on and off for a few months and seeing others use it, I found that although this is a good rubber, it lacks durability, with most of mine and all of my mates’ rubber going dead within one to two months.
Very nice rubber. I tried it on a friend’s bat. It’s spinny on loop but good for flats. It’s great close to the table and not too bouncy, but it’s a killer in mid distance game. I bought one for myself, and it’s a very good forehand rubber.
