Butterfly Taksim
Blade description:
The Butterfly Taksim-CS is a professional-grade Chinese penhold (CPH) blade featuring a 5+2 construction. It integrates five wood plies with two layers of Arylate-Carbon (ALC). With a thickness of 7.0mm, it is significantly thicker and more rigid than standard offensive blades, providing a stable platform and a high degree of structural integrity for high-impact shots.
Speed and Response
This composite blade is designed for a mid-fast to fast offensive game, characterized by a high reaction force. While the material composition provides a soft touch, the overall thickness results in a stiff, crisp response with very little vibration. This “solid” feel is particularly effective for smashing and fast attacks, though it requires precise technical skill to accurately judge ball placement on contact.
Control and Feedback
- Stability: The blade emphasizes consistency, making it well-suited for blocking and counter-attacking close to the table.
- Flex: The stiffness ensures the blade does not flex excessively under pressure, allowing for high directional precision during fast rallies.
- Trajectory: It tends to produce a relatively high throw angle during blocks, which may require manual adjustments to keep the ball low over the net.
Design and Handling
Weighing between 86g and 88g, the Taksim-CS offers a balanced weight distribution tailored for the penhold grip. Its compact 158×150mm head size and specific handle design are optimized for traditional penhold attackers. This configuration favors players who prioritize powerful forehand drives and active blocking over modern reverse penhold backhand (RPB) techniques.

Hi folks, after all these years on the market, the Taksim blade is still a very good choice for CPH (close-to-the-table) players, especially if you utilize blocking more than RPH (rear-hand play).
The forehand is always fast and excellent, particularly when paired with a good, softer sponge rubber. I have used, and would recommend, the following rubbers: Butterfly Dignics 05, Butterfly Rosanna, Xiom Omega VII Tour/Pro, Tibhar MX-P/S, Victas Ventus 01/15 Stiff, Donic Bluefire JP-01/02, and Gewo Nexxus EL Pro 47.5/50.
I own three of these blades and haven’t yet found another blade to replace them! Using the Taksim is like having an old friend with you.

Hi Folks, after all these years in the market, Taksim is still a very good choice for Club Players (CPH); especially if you use blocking rather than Reverse Penhold (RPH). The Forehand (FH) is always fast & excellent with a good rubber. I have used and would recommend the following rubbers with Taksim: Butterfly (BTY) Dignics/ tenergy 05 (D/T05), Rosanna, Xiom Omega 5/7-tour/pro, Tibhar MX-P/S, Victas V15 stiff, Donic Bluefire JP-01/02, Gewo’s 47.5/50 sponge. I have 3 of these blades and could not find another blade to replace them yet. When using Taksim, it is like an old friend with you!

Folks, Taksim is probably still one of the best CPH blades on the market. I’ve used two in the last eight years and have tried many others, including the Yasaka MLC, Nittaku Lialox, Bty. Supreme Speed, and 729’s imitation. When you use Taksim, it feels like an old friend is with you. The only reason it doesn’t get a perfect 10 is because of its inflated price and difficulty in obtaining.
