The Donic Coppa JO Silver is a versatile table tennis rubber that has garnered positive feedback for its unique blend of speed, spin, and control. With a speed rating of 79, this rubber is designed for players who appreciate a good balance between quick play and manageable control. While it may not be the fastest rubber on the market, its excellent spin potential, rated at 93, makes it especially suitable for generating spinny serves and attacking shots.
In terms of tackiness, the Coppa JO Silver achieves a moderate rating of 2.5. This characteristic contributes to its overall effectiveness in producing spin, but players may find that it can get dirty quickly, necessitating regular cleaning during play. Weighing in at a medium level of 3.5, it strikes a balance that many players find comfortable, providing sufficient feedback without being overly cumbersome. The sponge hardness is rated at 3, which adds to its control but may feel softer for those who prefer a more solid hit.
With a durability rating of 5.8, reviews suggest that while the Coppa JO Silver offers a solid performance, it may wear out faster than some other high-end rubbers. As an alternative for players seeking different characteristics, options like Donic Acuda S2 and Barracuda might be worth exploring for greater hardness and spin. Despite its minor drawbacks, many players regard the Donic Coppa JO Silver as an excellent choice for both beginner and intermediate levels. Its great sound, consistent block performance, and responsiveness make it a compelling option for players who enjoy a controlled playing style with the potential for offensive play.
It’s completely a great rubber. The speed is amazing, and the spin is great. I used it on my Persson Power Carbon.
Nice rubber. It gets dirty with dust very fast, so you have to clean it after each 30 minutes of play. It’s good for beginners, not so fast but okay. You need a good hand to get extra spin. It has a nice sound. Overall, I give it an 8 out of 10. Keep it away from the table edges.
Donic Coppa JO Silver continues to amaze me, usually when paired with high-standard Donic blades - I’m not saying it’s not good for other branded blades. The rubber is okay, not too bad, not too hard. Its main spin is nothing to worry about, and I find it fun to generate some spinny services. I agree that it is an ideal rubber for beginners, but it is nothing compared to the Gold version. Looping is fantastic here, but it is not so fun for controlling its throw angle. Don’t worry, it’s still a good rubber, but a little too overpriced.
