Nittaku Alhelg stands out in the table tennis rubber market as a highly regarded choice among players seeking a balance between speed, spin, and control. It boasts impressive ratings with a speed rating of 15 and a spin rating of 13, making it a formidable option for aggressive players. The rubber has a relatively low tackiness score of 2.3, suggesting a moderate grip that allows for decent spin without compromising control. This characteristic makes it suitable for varied playing styles, particularly for those who enjoy a close-to-the-table game.
In terms of weight, Alhelg falls into the medium category, typically averaging around 46-47g for a 2.0 mm thickness after being cut. This weight is neither excessively light nor heavy, providing players with a comfortable balance for extended play. Durability has received mixed feedback; while some players find it satisfactory with a rating of 7.5, others have reported issues with the topsheet wearing out quickly, similar to other high-end rubbers like Tenergy. Therefore, durability may vary significantly based on individual usage and playing style.
For those considering alternatives, while Nittaku Alhelg excels in control and versatility, rubbers such as the Rakza X and Xiom Omega V series may be appealing options for players prioritizing grip and durability. Ultimately, Nittaku Alhelg is best suited for players who enjoy a dynamic, close-to-the-table game and value a responsive feel in their equipment, though they should be cautious of its longevity.
Wow! Highest possible Spin, Speed, and control in one rubber!
This rubber is of poor quality and breaks easily. I have never encountered a rubber with such a poor build quality. It is only good for one use and is likely to tear from the sponge when being removed from the blade. I feel that this was a waste of money.
