The Tibhar Genius+ Optimum is a high-performance table tennis rubber designed for players seeking a balance of speed and spin, making it a popular choice among intermediate to advanced players. With an impressive speed rating of 9 and a spin rating of 9.3, the rubber allows for aggressive offensive play while maintaining a high level of control, rated at 8.9. The Genius+ Optimum enhances the player’s ability to execute powerful loops and offensive strokes, excelling particularly at mid-distance from the table.
In terms of tackiness, the rubber is moderately tacky, rated at 2.7, which contributes to its ability to generate substantial spin on the ball. The sponge hardness is rated at 5.8, providing a good balance between softness and firmness, suitable for a variety of playing styles. Weight-wise, it is classified as medium, at 4.5, making it versatile and easy to handle for extended play.
Durability is one area where the Genius+ Optimum sees mixed reviews; while its performance is excellent, many players have noted that it could be more durable, with a durability rating of 6.5 indicating that the rubber may break down quicker than some alternatives. For players concerned about longevity, alternatives such as the Tibhar Genius Sound or various options from brands like Donic and Yasaka may offer different durability and speed characteristics.
Overall, the Tibhar Genius+ Optimum is a remarkable rubber that delivers on speed, spin, and control, making it an excellent choice for players looking to enhance their offensive capabilities, despite some concerns regarding its lifespan.
High-quality rubber. I’m pleased with the spin. It provides good control. However, when using a direct block (penhold), the ball often falls into the net. I prefer using the rubber on a slow/medium blade. On the Palio KA Offensive blade, it was too fast for my personal preference.
I used this rubber on my Donic Waldner AR+ blade on my FH side. I found this rubber to be a bit fast for me. For the first two days, I wasn’t even able to play a good rally. All my topspin shots would fly off the table.
But now it’s my favorite. Tons of spin can be produced with compact strokes, and I can easily land the ball on the table even when I’m completely out of position.
I would say this is best suited for players who play at mid-distance from the table because that’s where the real picture of this rubber comes into play. Looping against backspins was like a dream for me with my previous rubbers. But now with this rubber, it’s very easy.
And moreover, with my long pips on my BH side, once the opponent makes a mistake and I get a high ball, there is no way he’s going to touch the ball again. At intermediate levels, this will be very useful.
This rubber is worth the cost. I hope you have a good time defeating your opponents with this rubber.
Well, I think Tibhar Genius is a really good rubber. It provides a good balance of speed, spin, and control. Overall, it’s a great rubber, but its durability is a bit of a concern. That’s the only problem I have with it.
