Rubber description:

The Tibhar Genius is a highly-regarded table tennis rubber that stands out for its exceptional performance and versatility, making it a favored choice among players of various skill levels. Known for its impressive speed rating of 91 and excellent spin capability rated at 87, it provides a well-balanced playing experience that combines power with control. The rubber features a medium tackiness level of 2.8, which contributes to its ability to generate impressive spin while maintaining a consistent feel during play.

In terms of weight, the Tibhar Genius is on the lower end, weighing in at 5.3, which makes it suitable for players who prefer a lightweight setup without sacrificing speed or spin. Durability is also a strong point for this rubber, noted for longevity with a durability rating of 8.3. Many players have reported that it retains its performance characteristics even after extensive use, making it a reliable option for regular play.

The Genius is particularly noted for its controlled offensive play, excelling in both forehand and backhand situations. However, some players have found it less effective for certain types of strokes like flicks and pushes due to a less grippy topsheet. Overall, it serves as a fantastic alternative to other popular rubbers like Tenergy and MX-P, particularly for those seeking greater control and a slightly softer feel. The Tibhar Genius offers an excellent pathway for intermediate players to develop their skills and eventually transition to more advanced rubbers as their game evolves.

Best rubber for players trying to develop control.
Consistent for backhand flicks and topspins.

Very spinny tensor rubber.

It works well on either FH or BH. The throw is quite high. The catapult effect is quite strong, most noticeable on medium impact strokes. Thus, mid-distance looping is a breeze.

However, it is not as versatile. The topsheet isn’t so grippy, making flicks and pushes a bit iffy. But it also makes the rubber less sensitive to spin, so passive play is quite easy.

Boosting will increase both advantages and disadvantages, resulting in very few gears and huge catapult but also wicked spin on shots with sponge engaged.

Overall, this rubber is like MX-P with worse topsheet, less booster, and higher throw. Intermediate players can use this and later upgrade to MX-P.
