Yasaka Xtend HS
Rubber description:
This rubber is a tensor. It is characterized by its significant built-in catapult effect, which produces a distinctive, loud “click” or “pop” sound during high-impact shots. It is designed primarily for close-to-the-table offensive play, offering a balance of speed and control that makes it well-suited for aggressive blocking, quick counter-hitting, and early-stage third-ball attacks.
Performance Characteristics
- Speed and Dwell Time: The rubber features a noticeably soft sponge that provides a bouncy feel and excellent feedback, allowing for a linear response. While it offers sufficient pace for attacking, its effectiveness decreases at mid-to-long distances, where the low throw angle and dependency on active play become more apparent.
- Spin and Control: The spin potential is generally categorized as moderate to good, though it is often noted for being more effective in blocking and driving than in producing heavy-spin serves or deep-looping sequences. The control is highly regarded in passive and active situations, providing forgiveness on off-center hits and stability during backhand play.
- Playing Style: This rubber excels for players who stay close to the table. It is frequently favored as a backhand solution due to its ease of use in flipping, fast blocking, and punching the ball. Users often find it to be a suitable transition for those moving away from traditional, non-tensor rubbers.

Great rubber for backhand (BH). I think it is the best rubber for BH that I have ever tried. It is fast, yet very controllable; spinny but linear. It is soft and light in weight. My BH play has improved substantially with this rubber; attacking, blocking, and flipping became simple with Xtend HS. You must try it.

Speed is fast, but spin is poor. Control is average. The sponge feels soft, but durability is not good. Looping is great on a high-flex blade and really fast on a stiff off+ rated blade. However, spin is the same on both blades.

Not my favorite. I was expecting more speed and less spin.
