#1 — June 2022

I bought a 39 degrees black piece. Sadly, I couldn’t find the provincial version, so I settled with the orange sponge. The rubber came out of the package slightly curved and has the smell of factory tuning. The tackiness of the topsheet took about a week to wear off; then it became grippy and easier to play. Although a bit slower than BD1, this rubber offers more spin and control, as I found my short touch, serve, and FH loop have tons of spin with a low trajectory. Overall, it has a good performance-to-price ratio and I will consider buying it again.

#2 — May 2022

I tried this rubber in 41º (hardest) on a Sanwei V5 PRO 7-ply offensive all wood blade. Now this one isn’t comparable to the original Big Dipper 38º, and I haven’t played a lot with it yet. The top sheet is the same as BD, but it’s a totally different sponge. The sponge is orange, and not yellow like BD, and feels and looks like a DHS Hurricane 3 sponge. Slightly domed out from the package. The feeling is really hard, and it’s quite hard to generate really spinny loops. I decided to boost it with 3 layers of Seamoon Booster. This softened up the sponge a bit and now it’s really nice, and I can play it like the hard variants of H3 and 729 Battle Max Pro. I will try this on a couple of different blades, and play some more and hopefully get back with some more info soon.
