Yinhe Venus 2
Rubber description:
The YinHe Venus 2 is a sticky (tacky) Chinese rubber designed for offensive play. It provides high spin potential and significant power for looping and attacking strokes. While the initial tackiness is prominent, it transitions into a grippy surface over time. The rubber is available in various sponge densities, allowing players to choose between softer options suited for control and chopping, or harder versions that offer increased speed and reduced dwell time.
Performance and Characteristics
- Spin and Speed: Capable of generating high levels of rotation, making it effective for heavy spin loops. It offers ample speed for aggressive offensive play.
- Control and Feel: Provides good feedback, particularly when paired with all-wood blades, assisting in touch-based shots.
- Trajectory: Depending on the sponge hardness, the throw angle can be quite low on fast strokes, making it effective for blocking, flicking, and punch-shots.
- Dwell Time: Higher sponge densities offer a crisper, more direct contact, while softer densities increase dwell time for defensive play or spin variation.
Considerations
- Consistency: As a traditional Chinese-style rubber, its performance often stabilizes after a short “break-in” period.
- Construction: While the topsheet provides reliable grip, users should be careful during application; the bond between the topsheet and sponge can be delicate, necessitating the use of a very sharp blade when trimming to the frame.
- Durability: With proper maintenance and the use of protective film, the tackiness and surface performance can be maintained over several months of play.

It takes a bit to get used to this rubber when new. After that, it is acceptable.
When cutting the rubber to the shape of the bat, use a very sharp cutting tool, like a large sized surgical blade. This will save you from checking if the rubber is cut all the way through. Otherwise, you run the risk of the top sheet separating from the sponge when checking the cut.

Excellent rubber, cool combination with all wood blade for forehand.
However, the quality is very poor. The topsheet separates from the sponge very quickly.

This long-lasting tacky Chinese rubber offers good speed and ample spin. It comes in various sponge densities.
I tested 40, 39, and 37 degrees. Each exhibits expected properties: harder sponges are heavier, faster, and have less dwell time.
Softer sponges may suit choppers, but I prefer medium to hard, as I like to sense the ball’s contact.
Sponge hardness is a key consideration in any review.
This rubber pairs well with a fast blade like the T11+. Its tackiness outlasts other 729 products I’ve tried, including the black 729 SP.
With regular cleaning and protective film applied post-use, this rubber maintains its ability to pick up and hold a ball even after months of heavy use. Its durability is impressive.
If you favor tacky Chinese rubbers and desire sponge density options, give this one a try!
