Based on the name “Super Kim,” and assuming it’s a commercially available rubber, we can infer some likely characteristics, even without knowing the brand. It’s likely designed to appeal to a broad range of players, focusing on a balance of performance attributes.
Given the “Super” prefix, it’s highly probable that the “Super Kim” is an inverted rubber designed for offensive play. It likely offers a medium-high speed and medium-high spin potential. The “Kim” suffix might suggest a focus on control and precision, implying a medium level of control. This combination would make it suitable for players who like to attack with spinny loops and drives but also need a degree of consistency in their blocking and short game. It’s likely aimed at intermediate to advanced players looking for an all-around rubber that can handle a variety of situations.
The sponge hardness is likely in the medium to medium-hard range (around 45-48 degrees on the European scale). This would provide a good balance between speed and dwell time, allowing for both powerful shots and controlled placement. Without specific information, it’s difficult to pinpoint any special features or technologies. However, it might incorporate a slightly tacky topsheet for enhanced spin or a specially formulated sponge for improved energy transfer. It’s likely designed to be durable and reasonably priced, making it a good option for players seeking a reliable and versatile rubber for all-around play.
I tested this on a Joola Aruna Carbon Off+ five-ply blade, with thick outer plies of Hinoki wood! Went to club practice on 31.1.2025. The pimples are really small compared to Feint soft and are quite rigid! On the other side I had Joola Samba 27 2mm Black! Super Kim, is a controllable LP but is not a soft pimple, I hit, blocked, and rolled with it easily on both sides. I blocked a fast loop simply and the ball died and played FLAT! I don’t think it is good for variation of spin and less so than Feint, when swiping the ball. This rubber you need to play the FULL shot, you can’t adjust your shot on the move or at the last second. The Rubber was good but deception is not a strong point! I think if the pimples were spaced more widely and slightly thicker you would have more effect, deception, and the pimples would have a way to slow faster players down more and have the ability to react a bit better.
