I am aware that every hinoki blade may have a distinctive feel, but the one I acquired is exceptional. The gentle sensation of hinoki is present, yet it is somewhat firmer than anticipated. It is extremely sturdy and slightly heavier than my other Hinoki blades (Cypress Max and Cypress Alpha-R). I am highly pleased with this blade. It offers exceptional control for all strokes, making it ideal for blocking. I feel complete control when executing attacking loops or hits. I may have been fortunate to acquire this remarkable blade, although I anticipate reviewing the XIOM Athena Platinum Special upon its arrival.

Many individuals favor square blades (myself included) primarily due to their aesthetic appeal. However, I must acknowledge that rounded square blades like this one provide enhanced control, which is beneficial for players who are not seasoned professionals. It assists in challenging situations where positioning or timing may be slightly off.
