Butterfly Grubba Pro

Blade description:

This is an all-wood, all-round blade characterized by its significant dwell time and high level of feedback. Its construction allows for a flexible feel with notable vibration, which provides players with distinct sensory information during ball contact. Due to these properties, the blade is well-regarded for its consistency and ease of use, particularly for those transitioning from defensive setups to a more balanced or attacking style.

Playing Characteristics

  • Tactile Feedback: The blade provides a high degree of vibration and feel, which aids in ball placement and short-game precision.
  • Spin and Dwell: The extended dwell time enables the generation of heavy spin, making it effective for both defensive chopping and controlled looping.
  • Versatility: While traditionally favored for defensive and all-round strategies, the blade maintains sufficient speed for mid-range attacking when paired with modern, high-tension rubbers.
  • Compatibility: The blade accommodates a variety of configurations, including long pips, anti-spin, and inverted rubbers, allowing for diverse combination setups.

Handling and Build

  • Construction: Traditional all-wood composition.
  • Ergonomics: Users generally report that the handle designs are comfortable, though the flared handle may feel smaller to some players compared to other models.
  • Durability: While historical versions were noted for a high-quality, smooth surface finish and durability, modern iterations have received mixed feedback regarding material consistency.

Excellent blade, offering very good control, good spin, and medium speed. It is a premium blade, unfortunately out of catalogue.

Very good blade, not only for beginners.

This is a blade that I own. My dad had it for 28 years, and now I own it. I will be turning 13 on 1/12/15. I am using Tenergy 80 on both sides.

It is a great blade with great control. It has a comfortable grip and is a very light blade, making it great for looping and chopping. I love this blade. It gives great control, good blocks, and is great for defending and attacking at mid-range.

It’s a very deadly racket with Tenergy 80 on both sides, with 9.4 spin + speed + Grubba Pro blade FL = deadly racket.
