Butterfly H.P. Courpierce R

All-wood

One of many variations on Butterfly’s five-ply kiri-core Jpen formula that was popular in the 80s and 90s. Hinoki outer plies are relatively thick (about 1.2 mm), so there is still some feeling of soft hitting and good touch.

That said, this is definitely a blade for hitters: the dwell time is short, and it loses some power away from the table. It makes sense that it is only offered in the “R” shape for close-table play.

For me, it pairs very well with offensive short pips like Spectol Blue.

The blade is of great quality and precision. It’s made of 5 layers of wood with 2 layers of carbon fiber. It has a very good balance and feel, and it’s very responsive. The blade is also very durable and can withstand a lot of play.

Overall, the blade is of great quality and can be used by players of all levels. It’s a great choice for anyone looking for a blade that will help them improve their game.
