Performance Characteristics

The Butterfly Schlager Carbon is a professional-grade, high-speed blade designed for advanced offensive players. It features a 3+2 construction, utilizing a composite structure that provides extreme speed and a very stiff, hard feel. Because of its rigidity and minimal dwell time, it offers a direct, linear trajectory, which many users find beneficial for aggressive flat hitting, smashes, and high-tempo blocking near the table.

Handling and Build

The blade is noted for its high-quality construction and durability. However, it is consistently described as heavy, which can shift the balance of the racket toward the head, particularly when paired with heavier rubbers. While some players find the handle design aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, others with larger hands may find the handle thin, occasionally necessitating modifications for a better grip.

Usage and Suitability

  • Skill Level: This is an advanced blade; it is generally considered unsuitable for beginners or intermediate players due to its uncompromising speed and the high level of technical precision required to keep the ball on the table.
  • Playstyle: It excels in close-to-the-table attacking and power-looping. Players who prefer a “no-lag” direct feel often favor this blade, though those who rely on significant dwell time for spin generation may find it challenging.
  • Pairing: Performance is highly dependent on rubber selection. While some users favor high-tension rubbers to maximize its power, others suggest that softer or medium-density rubbers can provide a more manageable feel for touch shots and control. It is recommended primarily for experienced looper/attacker profiles who have the consistent technique to master its high-velocity output.

Very fast blade, but the ST handle is too thin.

Control is poor, but it is too fast to lose the game. So far, I have broken a 729 seamless 40+ ball and a Joola seamless 40+ ball.

I wanna buy… Hellow where do you from???

Extreme speed comes with almost no control. It’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to finish your stroke or generate power or spin due to the extremely short dwell time. Rumor has it that Schlager uses a Primorac blade with a Schlager handle.
