Butterfly Schlager Carbon table tennis blade

Blade description:

The Butterfly Schlager Carbon blade is a powerhouse designed for high-level, aggressive table tennis players who thrive on speed and explosiveness. With a total of five plies — three layers of wood and two layers of carbon — this blade delivers extraordinary speed ratings of 10 out of 10 alongside a hardness rating of 8.9. Weighing in at approximately 95 grams and measuring 7.4mm thick, the Schlager Carbon offers a robust feel while promoting a swift ball trajectory.

This OFF+ rated blade is exceptionally stiff, possessing a notable flex characteristic that provides limited dwell time, which can pose a challenge for players who rely on touch. Many reviews highlight its extreme responsiveness and the requirement for solid technique to control the power of each shot. Players need to have considerable experience to harness its raw speed effectively; thus, it is typically recommended for advanced users looking to enhance their offensive game. The blade’s composition allows for effective loop drives and powerful smashes, making it particularly well-suited for offensive styles near the table or at mid-distance.

While there are alternatives on the market, like the Timo Boll ALC or ZLC series, the Schlager Carbon stands out for its unique blend of speed and feel. However, the trade-off comes in its weight and stiffness, which some players may find challenging to adapt to. Those who can master this blade often speak of its incredible potential to elevate their gameplay, provided they invest the time to get accustomed to its fast pace and relatively low control during touch shots. Overall, the Butterfly Schlager Carbon is a premium choice for competitive players seeking speed without compromising quality.

Very fast blade, but the ST handle is too thin.

Control is poor, but it is too fast to lose the game. So far, I have broken a 729 seamless 40+ ball and a Joola seamless 40+ ball.

I wanna buy… Hellow where do you from???

Extreme speed comes with almost no control. It’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to finish your stroke or generate power or spin due to the extremely short dwell time. Rumor has it that Schlager uses a Primorac blade with a Schlager handle.
