Very fast blade, but the ST handle is too thin.

Control is poor, but it is too fast to lose the game. So far, I have broken a 729 seamless 40+ ball and a Joola seamless 40+ ball.

I wanna buy… Hellow where do you from???

#3 — July 2017

Extreme speed comes with almost no control. It’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to finish your stroke or generate power or spin due to the extremely short dwell time. Rumor has it that Schlager uses a Primorac blade with a Schlager handle.

This is a very fast blade that I recommend for highly skilled players. It is very capable away from the table, where you can fully utilize its power. However, it is not a suitable blade for beginners, as it can be somewhat difficult to control. Overall, it is a great blade from Butterfly.

Amazing blade. Worth its price, a good buy indeed. Not really preferable for beginners.

This blade is remarkably fast, but its speed depends on your opponent. When playing with defensive players, I could control the pace.

However, against a player several leagues ahead, who played at a much higher “normal speed,” my hits soared long. My opponent’s speed compounded with mine, resulting in erratic shots.

To compensate, I had to retreat 1-2 meters and it took significant time to adjust.

I may consider using this blade again in the future, but after this experience, which revealed its true speed, I have opted for a slower option like Innerforce ZLF.

This blade is well-balanced between speed, spin, and control. It’s easy to loop with harder rubbers, but softer or medium rubbers would work fine too. The blade is excellent for counter-looping and even provides good power behind smashes.

However, the handle is too small, which I solved by adding hard paper to it.

#9 — March 2013

This is a great blade for fast looping and blocking. Contrary to popular belief, it offers excellent control. However, to maximize spin, it’s recommended to use a spinny rubber like Tenergy 05.

#10 — March 2013

To me, it seems not as fast as I expected. Control is not good. The ZLC series is much better in both speed and control, even looping is totally different. ZLC performs exceptionally well in this aspect.

Very good blade for attacking, especially looping and blocking. However, it is slightly heavier and more challenging to control.

#12 — October 2012

This is a very speedy blade. For the forehand, I use the Xiom Vega Pro rubber. For the backhand, I use the Xiom Vega Asia rubber.

I have only been playing for a year and have paired this blade with T05 2.1. I am very pleased with the combination. I have won two divisions and increased my rating by over 200 points.

I have tried other blades, both cheaper and similar to BTY, but this one has given me the best results. I like it so much that I purchased a second one as a backup.

A respected and higher-ranking player recommended this blade to me, and I have no regrets about purchasing it. I look forward to continuing to improve my rating with this blade.

Fast, but heavy. The quality is top-notch. The handle is lovely, and you’ll hit bullets. If you put the right rubber on this beast, you might even hit them on the table. If you are using an average blade, it will take time for you to have control over this blade. It took me about six to eight months to have control. But once you have control, then you can do wonders with this blade. Overall, it is a nice blade to have in the collection.

Hello everyone, I have been playing with the Schlager Carbon OFF+ for over three years now, and I must say that it is a professional blade that is perfect for serious players like myself. However, it is not suitable for beginners or intermediate players.

In order to control this fast blade, you must have a great feeling and technique. I have paired it with two Tenergy 05 rubbers, which makes my game deadly for all my opponents. With this rubber combination, my blade generates strong spins with high rotations. It also allows for great blocking, looping, smashing, and spin over opponents' spins. When my opponents put spin on the ball, blocking close to the table causes the ball to go even faster than the shot spin. This creates big problems for opponents because it is backing so fast, and they don’t have time to prepare for the next spin. Additionally, if I go to spin over spin, the ball comes with more rotation and speed, which often causes my opponents to make mistakes.

The only thing I don’t like about this blade is its weight, which is a little heavy. However, it is probably necessary for the blade to be as strong as it is. It performs exceptionally well close to the table, from mid-distance, and even further away. This is a great blade, and I don’t plan on changing it anytime soon. It is a fully professional blade, and I give it a 10 out of 10.

Combined with T05 has definitely improved my game. I highly recommend it!

#17 — February 2012

I have been playing with the Schlager Carbon OFF+ for over two years now, and I absolutely love it. I have tried the Timo Boll Spirit and ALC, but I find that I can generate more dangerous shots with this blade. I currently use Tenergy 05 on both sides, and it provides excellent spin and power for both my forehand and backhand. My opponents often make more mistakes when I play with this blade because my attacks are more powerful and my spins are more deceptive. I am very happy with this blade and have no plans to switch anytime soon. It is perfect for my attacking style of play, whether I am playing close to the table or from a distance.

Well, what can I say about this blade?

1. It’s great. 2. Super Fast. 3. A real beauty.

I just played with it two hours ago. Here is a short summary of what happened. (Take note I am using a very fast setup.) Blade: Schlager Carbon Fh: Tenergy25 FX max Bh: Bryce Speed Max

Pros: Fast. Comfortable Handle. A lot of control.

Cons: A little heavy. (I don’t know if I just got used to the weight of my Cofferlait or what.) Somewhat expensive but worth every single cent. I can’t feel the ball.

I can do everything with this. I could chop with it. Loop. Topspin. Dropshot. I can do super spinny serves. And, I have been playing for 10 months only. Started taking professional lessons four months ago. I didn’t mind adjusting to it. At first, like 20 to 30 mins of using it, all my shots were just long and all over the place. After an hour, I was beating the hell out of my team captain. He said that my topspins were a blur.

After a while, my captain asked if he could borrow it. So I borrowed his racket. Joola Flame Extreme with DHS Hurricane 3 and Joola Tango extreme. He couldn’t handle my racket. His shots were just awful. He was afraid to put power in it because it would just fly away. And when he’s watching me play with it, he’s really impressed that I am having no problems with it. I think he’s gonna pass the captaincy to me when he graduates.

Wonderful blade! One of the fastest BTY blades, yet very precise and good for attacking near the table. However, you should possess a consistent technique to control this blade. If you do and like Schlager’s offensive playing style, give it a try. In this Off+ category (near the table, much precision, and hard shots), it’s undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best blade.

#20 — October 2011

Blocks and smashes are great. Topspinning is definitely a challenge, though. I prefer the PC for slightly more feel and dwell time to the SC though. One thing is for sure, though: this blade has great quality and is deadly in the right hands.

#21 — September 2011

The blade is not suitable for spin and looping.

#22 — September 2011

I recently acquired and tested the Schlager Carbon blade, my first match experience with it being in a tournament yesterday. My background includes a decade-long hiatus from the sport, and upon returning, I’ve experimented with Timo Boll ALC and Spirit with T64 2.1 on both sides, as well as Jun Mizutani with Tibhar Grip — S Max on my forehand and Genius Max on my backhand. My most recent blade was the Jun Mizutani, which I found comfortable, but the handle was too small and increased my dwell time. I also felt it muted my feel. I’ve noticed that Butterfly handles are generally too small for my 6'2”, 180 lbs frame and still need to add tape to my Schlager.

Despite reviews suggesting explosive speed, uncontrollable power, and a “rock-like” feel, I was a bit hesitant to purchase this blade. However, after playing with it the entire day, my smile has yet to fade. Right out of the box, I conducted my usual tests for vibration, feel, and balance. The blade exhibited a high-pitched tone when vibrated, indicating its speed, and I found it impossible to bounce the ball so low that I could not feel it. The balance was neutral without rubber, but top-heavy with it, which I prefer.

I equipped the blade with Hurricane Neo III Max on my forehand and Spin-Art 1.9 mm on my backhand and eagerly awaited my tournament appearance. My partner and I placed second, losing 9-11 in the last game of the finals (3-4), indicating a close match.

During the tournament, I executed a wide range of shots and experienced the following: — The Schlager Carbon blade is the best I’ve ever used, particularly as a double-winged looper who prefers to loop away from the table. — The blade does not augment my skills, unlike other carbon blades I’ve tried. It faithfully transmits my inputs, allowing me to execute shots I intend without artificial enhancements. — It provides excellent feedback on the ball’s position and trajectory. — I was able to execute an impressive chop that won a point, showcasing the blade’s versatility. — My loops, lobs, blocks, and other shots performed as expected, with a few missed backhands due to my adjustment to the Spin Art’s reduced thickness.

After the tournament, I allowed fans to try my blade. None could handle it successfully. The most skilled player, a 2000-rated 20-year-old looper, attempted to use the blade but failed to land a single shot on the table. I attempted to encourage him, but the damage had been done. He likened the blade to a “nuclear bomb,” indicating the stark difference it posed for him.

I attribute this blade to my tournament success and highly recommend it to players of all levels. For those under 2000, perseverance is key. With consistent practice, you will outshine players who rely on equipment enhancements. The Werner Schlager Carbon blade will reveal your true playing abilities, rewarding precise technique and highlighting any weaknesses. It is the perfect blade for me and offers consistency, reliability, and versatility.

Just like the rest of the reviews here, this blade has high speed. It excels in power loops and smashes, but touch shots may require some practice to master. The blade pairs well with medium to soft rubbers. Due to its weight, I would rate it a 9, but the craftsmanship maintains the expected high quality of Butterfly products, resulting in a well-made blade with significant power.

#24 — April 2011

I believe this is one of the fastest blades around. It’s a very good blade, but you just have to learn to control it by practicing a lot. By the way, it’s worth the money if you’re thinking of getting one. Good luck, everyone.

#25 — March 2011

Definitely, this is a hard and fast blade! When the ball touches the blade, it goes flying away! To make this blade work as it should, you need to have excellent control.

PROS: Very, very, very fast. Good for near-the-table games.

CONS: Heavy, hard (I can’t feel the ball touching the blade) and as said before, very, very fast! It doesn’t have a bit of control.

#26 — February 2011

I have just had it for 2 weeks. It is really fast, but still, the spin is good, and you can still control it. The blocking is just very awesome.

#27 — January 2011

I love this blade…it’s one of my favorites!

It’s ultra fast, hard, and direct, but still controllable. If you play near the table and have a good feeling for the ball, and like very fast blades, you’ll love it!

Schlager himself plays with it!!!

#28 — December 2010

Very fast blade but with surprisingly good touch for this level of speed. Unlike many fast carbon blades that feature slight to pronounced lag when spinning the ball, shots with this blade feel “linear”, which in my mind is a kind of low throw very direct trajectory. This gives me a kind of control that I lose with other fast blades particularly on follow up loops (2nd, 3d, 4th etc).

Because it is very fast, it is easy to topspin against under spin. Admittedly sometimes the rocket speed means missed blocks or over the table shots, but nonetheless, this blade has much better control than at first appears. Of course, if you make a big loop or a big kill, it is an absolute rocket. Fast loops will be a blur to your opponent, and when you make a hard kill, it makes an awesome cracking sound.

It is definitely on the heavy side and in the final analysis recommended only if you like to loop and loop big. For European-style topspin play (such as Schlager!), this blade is a lot of fun. For most other styles, it is probably not a good idea. If you are one of those players that hates “lag”, this is the blade for you.

#29 — December 2010

Regarding the blade’s construction, it is slightly heavier, stiffer, and thicker than I would prefer. However, I overlook these minor inconveniences due to the blade’s exceptional speed. The handle is aesthetically pleasing and ergonomic, providing a comfortable grip.

The blade excels in aggressive strokes such as smashes, flicks, and flips, as well as defensive blocks. Generating spin with this blade is not particularly challenging, but it does require some practice to master.

I own two Schlager Carbon blades: one equipped with two Butterfly Tenergy 05 rubbers, replicating Werner Schlager’s blade setup; the other with two Tibhar Genius Sound rubbers. I prefer the latter combination, as it provides a more well-rounded playing experience.

In my opinion, the Schlager Carbon blade, particularly with the Tibhar Genius Sound rubbers, is a fantastic choice. It offers both power and control, making it suitable for a wide range of playing styles.

#30 — December 2010

I purchased this blade back in 2003 when I was focused on generating powerful smashes. It effectively delivers on speed, as its name suggests.

However, predicting the direction of the ball can be challenging due to its stiffness and lack of sensitivity. In reality, it may not be as practical as one might anticipate. Although I am a large individual, I am not concerned about enhancing speed with this or any other new blade or rubber.

If you are around 5'5” and weigh 120 pounds, you might consider using a different playing style.

I rate this blade a 7.5 because it fulfills its primary purpose but does not exceed expectations. Individuals seeking both speed and feel should consider using a Hinoki blade, as there are numerous other options available.

#31 — August 2010

Which blade is faster?

Butterfly Schlager Stiga Hybrid NCT

#32 — May 2010

Extremely fast, but nice feeling!

#33 — March 2010

This blade is well-suited for fast play due to its light weight and quick handling. However, it may not be the best option for close-to-table play, as its weight can make it difficult to control. For wristy players, a lighter blade might be a better choice. The handle is comfortable and provides a good grip. Overall, except for its weight, this is a good blade.

#34 — May 2009

Rocket blade! My good friend purchased this blade with Butterfly Catapult rubber R/B. If you can yield it correctly, it’s a deadly weapon; definitely an advanced player’s blade. It has super stiff and great construction, but that’s why you’re gonna pay an arm and a leg for it :).

#35 — May 2008

Heavier, thicker, stiffer, and quicker than the Timo Boll Spirit, this is a genuinely quick blade. However, I found it too heavy and stiff for my spinny loop/block game.

#36 — February 2008

Fast but heavy, the quality of this blade is top-notch. The handle is lovely, and you’ll hit bullets with this blade. If you put the right rubber on this beast, you might even hit them on the table. Overall, this blade makes a solid addition to any collection.
