I really like this blade, specifically for its low throw angle and good precision. Coming from the Korbel, it feels pretty controllable. However, it definitely has much more power than the Korbel.

Excellent blade for heavy loops. Great speed and spin to overwhelm your opponent. Best part is the unmatched feeling of control and confidence on your shots.

Actually using the cpen handle. I was using a 5-ply wood blade before this one (Stiga Emerald VPS V). This blade offers a significant upgrade in terms of speed. Close-table bananas and counter backhands feel fantastic.

However, the blade performs best when used at mid-far distances, at least for my playstyle. It’s not too heavy nor too light (mine weighs 86g). The vibration is low, especially for an ALC blade, providing just enough feedback to feel the ball.

The blade produces a low trajectory and a somewhat flat ball feel. If you desire significant spin, you’ll need to commit, as it requires activation of the ALC layer. Overall, I believe I made a wise choice considering the price.

The outer ply surface is limba, which produces nice spin and angles. The blade is easy to use, fast, and provides good control. It performs exceptionally well with Chinese rubbers.

UPDATE: You can feel vibrations when using this blade.

QUALITY AND PRICE ;).

The performance of this blade is great, but the quality is not as impressive. The blade is particularly well-suited for mid-range looping, but its bounciness can make close-to-table looping more challenging.

What a blade! Combine it with DHS Gold Arc 8 Max thickness (FH) and Andro Rasant 2.15mm (BH) and create a legendary combo. Control and speed are incredible with very good spin. My play has leveled up significantly in a day. The blade’s specifics are very similar to the Ma Long 5. Check and compare them yourself. The only difference is that it is 1/4th of the price. The handle could be a problem for those with large hands. I have used overgrip to solve this problem. Highly recommended.

Její střední tvrdost, rychlost a citlivost z ní činí dobrou volbu pro hráče, kteří chtějí generovat rotaci a zároveň udržovat kontrolu nad míčem.

I used this acrylate-carbon blade in CPH for a few months. Normally, I use Bty. Taksim, so I’m still getting used to it. I put TSP/Victas 01, softer sponge rubbers on it.

The sound is very loud as a hard blade. Serving and control are good, but looping topspin, hitting, and blocking need a bit of adjustment. This is not a blade for beginners. It has a nice style, a bigger head size than Bty., and is good for 40+ balls. It is called the little brother of Ma Long 5. For the price, it is definitely worth a try!

The blade is almost hard with less flexibility. It is too strong, making it not easy to control. Senior players may appreciate it. Alternatively, it is suitable for frequent trainers. However, I gave up due to the difficulty of checking the ball.

I really like this blade. It’s my first carbon blade, coming from a Mizuno Fortius FT, which is a 7-ply, fairly stiff wood blade. It has great touch in the short game and feels like a wood blade.

Mid-distance shots were initially challenging as the carbon would activate, causing shots to go long. However, after a little adjustment time, this became much easier. Away from the table, the blade is awesome, great for generating topspin and with more than enough power.

I wish it had a little more flex like the Hurricane 301. To be honest, I got this blade because the 301 wasn’t available at the time. For the money, though, it’s pretty great.

Review text:

Using this blade paired with Tibhar EL-S (FH) and Stiga Airoc S (BH), it performs well in almost all categories. The blade is hard and pairs better with medium to medium-soft rubbers. Your technique needs to be sound to pair hard rubbers with it. Even with medium hard EL-S, it sometimes goes long.

If anyone wants to upgrade to carbon for the first time from an all-wood blade, they can easily choose this one as it feels almost like an all-wood blade. Other reputable brands with similar blades are significantly more expensive. This blade is the best in its price segment.

Firstly, this blade excels in control, blocking, and even speed. However, the handle and lower part of the blade are lacking. It would be significantly improved with a handle similar to the Stiga Infinity or Butterfly Viscaria.

Despite its advantages, the blade can be unforgiving in serious play. Sometimes, I have difficulty lifting the ball on both the backhand and forehand.

I am currently using DHS Skyline 3 Neo on the forehand and DHS Hurricane 8 on the backhand. I sanded the outer part near the handle for better accuracy, similar to the Butterfly Viscaria. This reduced the weight, which is not a problem. I hope DHS improves the handle in the future for serious players.

The blade allows for a wide range of shots. I can slow down the ball or smash it hard. The throw level is high, but flicks can be challenging due to the handle; the ball tends to go into the net or out.

Compared to other blades in the Arylate Carbon series, this blade is relatively inexpensive. With a better handle, I would rate it 10 out of 10. Overall, it is a decent blade that could be improved with a few adjustments.

It’s a very decent blade for beginners like my friend Richard. Highly recommended.

#15August 2017

This blade is adequate, especially for close and mid play. I enjoy using it in all aspects. My previous blade, the DHS Wind CW-C, was very heavy, which was beneficial for finishing points during smashes. The feel of this blade is somewhat similar to my Yasaka Malin. Blocking with this blade is exceptional.

I have heard from others that the Hurricane Long 5 and the Fan Bo 2 carbon are nearly identical, with the exception of a minor difference in size. I opted for the Fan Bo 2 because it is more affordable than the Hurricane Long 5. I believe that even beginners could use this blade, as it promotes good technique and accuracy. It has a thickness of 5.9 mm, making it thinner than my previous blades. Additionally, this blade is highly responsive when receiving tricky serves and chops. For close to mid play, this blade is relentless. It is also effective from long distances, provided the player has good footwork. I am currently using DHS Hurricane 8 on the forehand and DHS Tin Arc 5 on the backhand. Give this blade a try, and it may bring good fortune your way. It is an affordable and highly responsive option.

Great blade with great control and feeling, and really good speed. I was afraid that it being a carbon blade it’ll be too stiff, but that is not the case. It’s perfectly good for looping, smashing and short game is really great too. Exceeded my expectations!! I’m using Mark V on both sides. It’s a good blade at very low price compared to other ALC blades and is definitely worth more than what it costs.

#17Long Time Ago...

Doesn’t have a lot of inner carbon characteristics. It has a very muted feeling and is stiff. However, it provides very good spin and speed.

#18December 2024

This blade is definitely a bang for the money, especially compared with HL5 or other more expensive blades!

#19December 2021

I paired this blade with Nittaku G-1 on the forehand and Rakza 7 on the backhand. This is a very good blade - very fast, but at the same time very controlled. It is very similar to Hurricane Long 5.

#20July 2021

Nice.

#22July 2020

Fast carbon blade with lots of spin. At this price, you can’t expect more. Feels woody on the soft stroke and carbon kicks in when hitting hard. Very easy to generate topspin, but skill level needs to be good to control the blade as it is really fast and bouncy. The blade feels stiff and is not very good in the service department. The handle is thin and feels head heavy when medium-heavy rubbers are attached.
Overall, an excellent blade for this price range.

#23August 2019

Super.

#24June 2019

This is a very well-made, quality blade, with terrific feedback and a good hold. It allows for a faster rubber without loss of control. The small-sized handle is the only drawback of the package, which you can get around with the use of grip tape.

#25April 2019

Relatively stiff until reaching 186 grams, then it started getting flexy and I felt the movement when doing powerful strokes. The feeling is pretty good for a carbon blade. I found it works well with a softer backhand tensor, leaving a dynamic spin vs smash vs block play. I really like the MX-S on the forehand and it was a dynamic rubber/blade combo where you have to put in a medium amount of input, but there was good speed and spin in short play, and powerful loops were available on reserve. Overall, a pretty hard, dense blade that can do a lot. It is more suited for direct spinny shots and not for lifting or insane sidespin play.

If you play Chinese style, use a lighter backhand to ensure a well-balanced blade. I made mine too heavy for a while and it was detrimental to speed and power.

Weight: 89-90 grams after sealer
Hardness: 6.5
Flex: (less weight) 4.0 ~ more weight (5.5-6.5 when not hitting sweet spot)

The handle was fine for me, as I grip a little more with my pinky in most shots and don’t mind the grip size. I have sausage fingers for my size.

After using the Stiga Carbonado 90 cpen for years, I eventually switched to shakehand due to surgery in my hands. I have been using the DHS Fang Bo Carbon for around 6 months now.
Very linear just like Carbonado 90. The throw is lower. If you do a loop or loop drive on a backspin, you will be confident that the opponent will have a hard time returning it due to its low arc. But again, because the arc is so low, you will have to use your waist rotation and go more forward to carry that backspin.
Depending on the rubber, I think medium-soft rubbers like Butterfly Rozena will suit this rubber. I don’t know about weights when it comes to sh blades, but I got an 88g one and it looked ok. Heavy at first due to the transition from penhold but manageable. I’ve also heard that some people find it heavy, and I get that sometimes when my hands are just tired after a few games.
The FL handle is just right, fits my small Asian hands but may seem small or uncomfortable to people with a larger frame.
I had a Rasanter R47 on fh. Too bouncy. I had the same rubber on the Carbonado 90, this was just too bouncy. It was weird. The ball trajectory was linear (just like Carbonado 90) but faster.
I don’t recommend this to beginners, maybe to people transitioning to more of an intermediate level. I want to say if you’re around USATT 1800 then this will be good. Don’t get this as your first blade.
As for playstyle, I play close to the table and it works very well with the linear trajectory. More of a counter hit off-the-bounce playstyle. Think of Tomokazu Harimoto or Miu Hirano. Don’t get this if you’re a fan of looping from far distance. Very good from 1m away from the table but you’ll need to exert more power.
Looping is good but it does suit the loop-drive stroke. Sweat stains from your hands will be seen on the blade after months of playing. The blade is pink at first, but the color will go from bright pure pink to a more faded pink which looks cool because it looks like it’s been used and can definitely hold lots of memories. Quality is very good, no edges, no uneven surfaces, and the box it came with had good presentation as well.
Check out Fang Bo on YouTube to see what the blade can do.
Thanks, M.

Good base, budget option Long 5, more control, less speed.

#28March 2018

I have been using the blade for half a year and am considering continuing with it. My blade weighs 90 g and is not head heavy. It is fast but offers very good control. It has some flex, but not too much. The touch is hard, but since the outer ply is limba and the arylate-carbon is built around the core ply, it is not too hard. It is very well balanced for me, providing good touch. The outer ply arrived very dry, so I applied some wood oil used for restoration. I used Xiom Omega V Tour first, but the blade plays better for me with a slightly smaller rubber (e.g. Andro Hexer).

#29January 2018

Of all the blades available in this price segment, this one is the clear winner. Ample speed, a huge sweet spot, good control, and feel are highlights of it. One thing to mention is its FL handle is quite narrow compared to other brands like BTY, Tibhar etc. The handle is optimized for looping. Playing close to the board flicks needs practice. Overall a very good blade.

#30December 2017

I like this blade. It is fast with a huge sweet spot. The only con is the handle, I solved it with hand grip tape. Thanks to TT11 for great service and delivery.

#31December 2017

Buona la velocità. Buono il controllo anche sotto stress.

#32October 2017

I tried it and it seems a little slower than my Butterfly Zhang Jike Blue Dragon, but the control was better, and it has a larger sweet spot than the wood blades. I am using it with H3 on FH and the Raksa 7 on my backhand. It works well, and I can’t go back to pure 5-ply wood blades. Great blade!

#33July 2017

Good base for an affordable price. Be careful when gluing rubbers, the outer layer is fragile, so it’s better to lacquer it.

#34December 2016

Thank you TT11 for the good service and fast delivery. I am using H3 Neo Provincial Blue Sponge 41 degrees for FH and T05 for BH. Very fast and controllable blade. The same feeling as DHS Long 5.

#35October 2016

A good blade for its price. I find it good to play from close to mid-distance. Comparing to my other alc blade, this one is a bit stiff. Overall, a very good blade; any rubber will go well. The only downside is the handle.
