DHS Hurricane H-TP

Blade description:

This all-wood 7-ply blade is designed primarily for offensive play, specifically focusing on power-looping strategies from mid-distance. It features a solid, high-mass construction that provides a stable foundation for aggressive topspin shots. The blade offers a low throw angle, which encourages flat, penetrating trajectories, making it well-suited for two-wing loopers.

Construction and Feel

  • Composition: All-wood, 7-ply construction.
  • Build: High-mass design, making it the heaviest option within its product series.
  • Handle: Designed with a substantial, comfortable grip; while the flared (FL) handle is noted for its size, some users may find the straight (ST) handle preferable depending on hand size.

Performance Characteristics

  • Style: Optimized for offensive loopers who play from mid-distance.
  • Compatibility: Performance is notably enhanced when paired with high-tension (tensor) rubbers, though it maintains consistency with traditional tacky Chinese rubbers.
  • Trajectory: Produces a characteristically low arc, ideal for driving through the ball and maintaining pressure on the opponent.

It’s a nice blade for tensor rubbers. I’ve used Tenergry 05 and Donic Desto F3 Bigslam with it and it’s a very nice blade. It has a low throw angle. I found out that it is a copy of Stiga Offensive CR-WRB - can’t compare (didn’t try Stiga). It has a big and comfortable handle (FL). It’s a nice buy for 2 wings loopers. But I think that ST handle is a better choice for most players.

Actually, the blade is made for tensor rubbers and is intended for power looping.

Review:

This is a nice blade. It is very comfortable to hold and is great for power looping, mid-distance looping, and with Hurricane 3 or DHS G666, it becomes a deadly combo. You can loop almost everything with this blade.
