DHS Power-G PG6X
Blade description:
This composite blade features a 5+2 construction, utilizing Koto outer plies and blue Arylate Carbon (ALC) layers. With a thickness of 5.9mm and a weight of approximately 91g, it offers a medium-fast performance profile characterized by a balanced blend of speed and control. It possesses a medium hardness and a moderate amount of flex, contributing to a stable feel that remains consistent during both aggressive topspin looping and flat hitting.
Playing Characteristics
- Feel and Feedback: The blade is noted for its low vibration and a large, forgiving sweet spot, making it highly stable during play. It provides a tactile, balanced sensation that is often compared to high-end industry standards in the ALC category.
- Performance: It excels in offensive play, offering a high throw angle that facilitates topspin efficiency. The construction pairs well with both hard and tacky rubbers, often favored by players utilizing boosted Chinese-style sponges.
Design and Build
- Construction: The oversized head size may impact overall setup weight when paired with heavy rubber sheets.
- Ergonomics: The flared handle is described as slim or thin, which may require additional grip tape depending on personal preference.
- Finish: While the functional performance is highly regarded, the manufacturing quality—specifically the wood finish—is considered basic, reflecting its focus on budget-friendly value.

My friend, who uses a Long 5X blade with a DHS Hurricane 3 Province Blue Sponge rubber, said that this setup is the best value for the price.
My current setup consists of a DHS Hurricane 3 Neo Commercial 40 on my forehand and a DHS Hurricane 3 Neo Commercial 39 on my backhand. I recommend applying two thin layers of booster to enhance the rubber’s performance.

DHS PG6X is my first arylate carbon blade. I am very happy with my choice, especially considering the budget-friendly price point. I purchased it after seeing a positive review on the Indonesian YouTube channel Pingpong plus. The reviewer highly approved of the blade. I find it to be an improvement over my previous pre-made blade, the Donic Legends Premium Line.
I have equipped the blade with DHS Hurricane 3 Neo on the forehand side and DHS Hurricane 3-50 on the backhand side. I opted for an all-DHS setup, even purchasing the side tape, WBG no.15, Rubber Cleaner Liquid Spray, Sponge Cleaner, and the blade cover from the same brand.
Some have expressed concerns that the FL handle is too small, but I find it to be the perfect size for my hand. I’ve found the blade to be quite stable and firm. While the finishing on the blade could be improved, I am not complaining considering the affordable price.
I have played with it once last week and I was very impressed. My speed, spin, and control improved immediately. Overall, I am very satisfied with the value I am getting for the amount of money I spent.
