All-wood
It’s a 5 ply wooden blade from DHS Power-G budget series. It comes with both ST and FL handles. The fact that it comes with an ST handle attracted me to try it, as my DHS PG7 has the same ST handle.
The feeling is totally different than the PG7. It’s an extremely hard blade with more stiffness than the PG7, and is very fast. The top ply is really hard; I heard somewhere that it’s “anigre” wood (same as on Yasaka Extra blade). Its dwell time is not so high comparable to the PG7.
In my opinion, it’s not a looper’s blade; I did not like it, but it works better for flat hitting and counter drives on the table. A colleague who played whole life with Butterfly Mazunov told me that for him, the PG8 blade is good and pretty similar to Mazunov except it’s not so heavy (mine PG8 was 86 g) and I think it’s more flexible than Mazunov.
The Yasaka Extra blade has a stiffer version that is ideal for players who prefer close-to-the-table play. This medium-speed blade is stiffer than most 5-ply wood blades, making it a suitable choice for players who prioritize control and precision.
Combination of Lightness and Fast sweeps. This Blade will give Aggressive players more time to prepare after swinging a loop.
