Donic Waldner Senso Carbon JO Shape Limited Edition
Blade description:
This composite blade features a 5+2 construction, integrating carbon layers into a wood-heavy design. It is characterized by high elasticity and a distinct dual-nature performance: the blade offers a wooden, controlled feel during touch shots and light play, while the carbon layers engage to provide increased speed and power during aggressive, high-impact strokes.
Playing Characteristics
- Feel and Responsiveness: The blade provides a balanced center of gravity, offering a comfortable grip and maneuverability. Its flexible nature makes it suitable for mid-to-far distance play, where the structure helps generate significant speed.
- Rubber Pairing: To optimize performance, the blade is best paired with high-density, hard, or medium-hard rubber sheets. Using less elastic rubbers helps dampen the inherent flexibility of the blade when playing close to the table.
- Control and Sweet Spot: The blade features a generous sweet spot, offering reliable control that remains accessible even for developing players.
Construction and Finish
- Material: 5+2 composite construction.
- Design: The blade utilizes a Senso-style handle design, which contributes to its specific balance and grip characteristics. Note that some users may find the fit and finish of the handle components and edge materials to be less refined compared to other premium Japanese or European offerings.

Good control and speed.
For this price, it’s one of the best blades.

Provides improved grip and balance compared to standard options.

Nice blade, not too fast, and offers good control for me.
The ST handle is comfortable. However, the overall finish isn’t as refined as my Yasaka Sweden Extra or Tibhar VS Unlimited. The feel is rushed, and the plastic on the handle isn’t fitted properly. I also have the Donic Waldner Senso Carbon JO Shape Limited Edition, which has the same poor finish as the regular Waldner Senso Carbon.
Now, playing with this blade is really fine, even for beginners. The blade feels more wooden when playing soft strokes; the carbon effect comes into play only after you hit the ball hard. I’m using Donic Baracuda 2.0 on my forehand and Donic Acuda P2 on my backhand. It provides good spin and control on both sides, and the sweet spot is also good.
