I’ve tried about fifty blades over the last few years, and it’s costing me a fortune. I’m going to stop. I bought this one second-hand. It had a few splintered fibers, so I repaired it with wood filler and tested it out. I really liked the Tibhar IV L Light Contact and the IV S as well, but this blade is a bit special. It has a so-called special gluing process and slightly thicker wood plies. And it’s true that it’s a bit harder and faster, but it still has great control. In the short game, I find it equivalent to the other Tibhar IVs, so really easy to play with. When you power up, it goes very, very fast. Actually, I think this blade is halfway between a 5-ply ALL+/OFF- blade and a carbon blade. It sits right in between the two. It’s pretty nice. For those who don’t like carbon, it’s a great option, and honestly, I think it’s a hidden gem. There aren’t many reviews online about it, but I think it’s underrated. So if you have a Tibhar IV L or S and you’re looking for a bit more stiffness, a larger sweet spot, and want to put points away, it’s awesome. For looping, honestly, it works like a charm.
