Tibhar Shang Kun Hybrid ZC

Blade description:

This high-speed composite blade features a 5+2 construction utilizing Zylon Carbon (ZC) fibers. It is designed primarily for offensive play, offering significant power for close-to-the-table attacks and mid-range looping. The blade is characterized by a hard feel and substantial bounciness, providing a high level of speed that requires advanced technical skill to maintain consistency.

Performance and Handling

  • Playing Characteristics: The blade offers a powerful, direct feel, making it highly effective for aggressive looping and blocking. While it provides ample energy for smashes and loops without excessive effort, the increased speed results in reduced dwell time compared to non-composite or Arylate Carbon (AC) alternatives.
  • Ergonomics and Design: The blade features a standard head size, addressing previous concerns regarding smaller blade dimensions in the manufacturer’s lineup. The handle geometry is reported to be comfortable, bearing a resemblance to high-end industry standards for straight handles.
  • Technical Requirements: Due to its significant speed and stiffness, this blade is best suited for experienced players with refined technique. Those transitioning from more flexible or slower blades may need to compensate by utilizing softer rubbers to maintain ball control and stay within the table during rallies.

Fast, even with an unboosted slow Hurricane 3. However, I had a very hard time staying consistent and keeping the ball in play, no matter how hard I tried.

Maybe I need to give it more time or develop my technique, but I’m not super impressed so far. It’s definitely designed for those with very good technique only.

The blade is an excellent choice for off+ players.
I tried it to figure out the difference to my Shang Kun AC.
The ZC version is significantly faster than the AC, but the control is less.
So I decided to go for the AC because for me it is fast enough and gives me more dwell time and control, and the possibility to go faster with a faster rubber.
For example, I can go for the Rasanter R53 instead of the R48.
That means for me, I prefer the AC version with more flexibility. In other words, if I chose the ZC, it is so fast that I had to change my rubber to the R45.
So if you are a high-speed player, the ZC would be an excellent choice for you.
(Sorry, I made some mistakes, my English is not the best).

This blade is truly a looping machine. ZLC carbon kicks in when needed, blocking is also great, smashes are decent, and touch game is very good.
It depends on your level and skill, but this blade does not need too much effort for forehand loops. I agree with previous comments that packaging is not of quality!
Other than that, the blade is awesome. I would like to commend TT11 for their remarkable service!
