The Victas Balsa 3.5 is a highly regarded table tennis blade that is celebrated for its unique combination of lightweight design and exceptional speed. Specifically constructed for players who favor a fast-paced game, this blade employs a core made of balsa wood, surrounded by softer outer layers that enhance control and feel. The balsa composition not only contributes to a lightweight design but also allows for rapid ball response, making it ideal for aggressive attacking playstyles and quick reflexes.
In terms of weight, the Victas Balsa 3.5 is categorized as a lightweight blade, typically weighing around 70 grams, which is considered low for table tennis blades. Its thickness measures approximately 5.7 mm, making it a suitable choice for players who seek a balance between speed and control. The thin profile of the blade contributes to its impressive agility, making it easier to execute fast strokes and rapid changes in direction during gameplay.
Flexibility is another notable feature of the Balsa 3.5; it has a medium-to-high flex that allows for added spin and a better feel upon impact with the ball. This characteristic is particularly beneficial for players who rely on spin to disrupt their opponent’s rhythm. Players can appreciate the control it provides during rallies, making it a versatile option for both offensive and defensive strategies.
For those seeking alternatives, the Victas Balsa 3.5 can be compared to other lightweight blades like the Butterfly Timo Boll ALC or the Donic Waldner Senso V1, both of which also offer a blend of speed and control. However, the unique balsa composition of the Victas blade gives it a distinct advantage in terms of responsiveness and touch, reinforcing why it remains a popular choice among competitive players.
Provides the control needed by modern defensive players. Can be bouncy so plan wisely with inverted rubbers. Tried with T05 and T05 FX 1.8 mm; both rubbers may have a hard time in terms of attacking. Double Fish Volant may be too slow for some players. Xiom Pro H gives better spinny controlled attacks and more strategic counters. Pimples may require a 0.6mm sponge for better control, especially for near-the-table tactics.
Easy to control blade, had an easy time chopping away from the table. Has a decent amount of power/speed when on the offensive. Would recommend for anyone who wants to play modern defense.
My second one, so I know how good it is for a modern defensive game. TT11 is super fast as usual.
