Victas Balsa 5.5

I love the feeling of the balsa blade, and the glass fiber gives it plenty of speed. For the ALL+ version, it is very fast, while still maintaining a high level of control.

Nice blade for a strategy game blocking close to the table.

This blade is 5.5 and works well, but with Airoc-Astro I found that the rubbers acted stiff and less spinny compared with the 5.0 blade and Airoc-S series rubbers. [I went back to my old setup and it is working well.] It just depends on how long you want to work with setups to find your best setup, but I am happy with my 5.0 blade setup.

It is a good blade, as the description says. Nevertheless, I prefer a longer and thicker handle. Also, I would like the wood to be softer to pair better with hard Chinese rubbers. Good quality.

I’m a TSP Balsa user for many years. Usually every next blade was almost the same as the previous one. Not this time. Besides the obvious series design change, the blade works differently. It became very similar to other vendor’s balsas—the same muffled feeling, maybe not to that extent as Butterfly’s balsa, but still the same feeling. Also, the springy effect on big strokes has gone.

Overall, it’s still not a bad blade, but it’s different from the previous version.
