Rubber description:

Rubber Classification: Tensor

The Hexer Duro is a well-balanced, all-around offensive tensor rubber designed for versatility. It is characterized by high levels of control, making it suitable for both beginner and intermediate players looking to improve their technique, as well as club-level players seeking a reliable, stable performance. The rubber offers a notable dwell time and produces a distinct sound when executing high-quality, powerful strokes.

Performance Characteristics

  • Spin and Speed: This rubber is capable of generating significant spin, particularly on serves, loops, and pushes. While it is not classified as an ultra-high-speed rubber, it provides sufficient power for effective attacking shots, loops, and power-looping from both close and mid-distance.
  • Control and Feel: The rubber features a relatively high throw angle, which aids in looping and topspin play but requires careful adjustment when returning serves. It is noted for being less sensitive to incoming spin, which enhances stability during blocking.
  • Sponge and Construction: There is varying user feedback regarding the sponge, with some describing it as soft and others as medium-to-medium-hard. The top sheet is engineered for durability, and the rubber exhibits a consistent, balanced feel that many users compare to classic all-around rubbers, though with updated tensor properties.

Note: Some users have reported challenges with the adhesion process when using standard water-based glues, occasionally requiring specific glue types to ensure a proper bond to the blade.

I’m a Cpen player, and I’ve been using this rubber on the FH side attached to a YEO7 blade, and I have to admit I’m astonished. You can do whatever you want; it has lots of control and a beautiful sound when making high-quality strokes. Although it is not a high-speed rubber, you still have plenty of power to make a killer shot. Topspin and power looping are easy, and it is not difficult to place the ball wherever you want. Blocking is also easy due to not being very sensitive to incoming spin. I would recommend this rubber to all beginners or intermediate players who want to improve their technique in a control-oriented game.
