Andro Rasant Grip

Andro Rasant Grip - packageAndro Rasant Grip - sponge

Rubber description:

This is a tensor rubber designed for offensive, spin-oriented players. It is characterized by high spin potential and a wide gear range, allowing for controlled play in the short game and explosive speed during full attacking strokes.

Playing Characteristics

  • Spin and Speed: The rubber offers exceptional spin, particularly on services, opening loops, and mid-distance topspin rallies. While it performs at high speeds, it remains manageable, provided the player utilizes an active, consistent stroke.
  • Throw Angle: Most users report a medium-to-low throw angle. Players may need to adjust their racket angle, particularly when executing heavy topspin loops, to compensate for the lower trajectory.
  • Dwell and Feel: The rubber features a medium-hardness sponge that provides a crisp, precise feel. It is noted for its high accuracy, making it reliable for counter-looping, blocking, and technical short-game play.

Operational Notes

  • Active Play Requirement: To access the highest gears and maximum power, the player must be aggressive. Passive blocks or lazy strokes can lead to a “dead” feel, often resulting in the ball failing to clear the net.
  • Suitability: Due to its sensitivity to incoming spin and requirement for proper technique, it is recommended for intermediate to advanced players rather than beginners. It functions effectively on both the forehand and backhand, offering a balance of consistency and offensive threat for those comfortable with a modern attacking style.
  • Durability and Build: The rubber is recognized for its longevity and sustained performance over extended periods of heavy use. Please note that it is reported to be relatively heavy compared to some other popular offensive rubbers.

Very good!

Very good rubber for an offensive player. I use a Primorac Carbon blade combined with Donic Acuda P1 Turbo on the backhand side, making my loop spins and smashes very accurate. It’s also very comfortable to block an opponent’s attack and counterattack, but with exceptional control. If you want to play aggressively, try this rubber. You won’t regret it, even if you buy it second-hand (like me).

Sadly, this rubber has been discontinued. I enjoy rallying and this is my ideal rubber. It has excellent blocks and counters. As it was in storage for years, it lost speed and gained control. But it can still lift backspin as well as any other rubber I have tried.
