Control is key with this rubber, allowing for precise placement of shots. Additionally, it generates excellent spin, enabling players to execute a wide range of deceptive serves and returns.
I purchased this rubber to replace my aging Andro Plasma 430. Expecting it to be somewhat firmer based on its name (450), I was thoroughly let down. Surprisingly, this rubber is even softer than the Plasma 430. While the sponge may be comparable in hardness, the longer pimples create an overall softer feel.
With gentle strokes, the rubber performs adequately, allowing for decent loops and effective blocking. However, when more force is applied, the pimples buckle, resulting in a loss of spin, speed, control, and trajectory. Compared to the Plasma rubber, it also generates less spin.
I utilized the rubber on a very soft Stiga Allround Classic blade. It is possible that using a firmer and stiffer blade could yield better results with this rubber’s softness.
My best backhand rubber. It offers excellent control and allows you to start playing powerfully even with cut balls, producing a noise similar to my old Mark V rubber with speed glue. Despite being relatively unknown, this rubber is truly exceptional for backhand play.
