Andro Roxon 500 Pro
Rubber description:
This tensor rubber is engineered for high-velocity offensive play, prioritizing raw speed and powerful smashes over high-arc spin loops. It features a hard sponge and a pronounced catapult effect that facilitates aggressive hitting close to or at a medium distance from the table.
Performance Characteristics
- Speed and Trajectory: The rubber offers an exceptionally fast, flat, and direct flight path. Due to its low throw angle, it is highly effective for aggressive blocking and driving, though this trajectory can make generating lift on defensive or backspin balls more challenging.
- Spin Potential: While capable of producing powerful, fast topspin shots and effective spin on serves, the balance of the rubber heavily favors speed. Users may find it requires precise technique to maximize spin, as it does not inherently offer the high-arc qualities found in softer, more spin-oriented rubbers.
- Control and Dwell: Given its high tension and speed, it is often described as unforgiving. It requires refined technique and active stroke play to maintain control, particularly in the short game, where the sensitive catapult effect can be difficult to manage.
Durability and Maintenance
- Physical Properties: The topsheet is prone to developing a “blurred” surface appearance relatively quickly with heavy use. However, the rubber is noted for its ability to be easily glued and removed without significant shrinking, maintaining its functional characteristics consistently over several months of play.

Similar to the Acuda S1 Turbo, this rubber provides a hard and fast playing experience. It is designed for players who appreciate speed and precision in their strokes.

I’ve had a positive experience with these rubbers overall. However, I do notice a few differences that I find less favorable. Personally, I find it quite challenging to generate lift with them. Additionally, my wife mentioned that the spinning potential is less than expected with these rubbers.
Despite these concerns, they’re not deal breakers for me as they still suit my playing style. I pair them with a Tempertech OFF+ paddle, relying on the speed to help shorten points.

Very fast rubber! I used it as a forehand rubber in 2mm. I initially wanted to buy the MAX version but discovered the Platin X1 Turbo.
I liked the Platin X1 Turbo a bit better than the Roxon 500 because it is slightly softer. It offers more spin and better control due to its higher ball trajectory.
