Rubber description:

Butterfly Bryce High Speed is a high-performance table tennis rubber renowned for its exceptional speed and direct playability. It boasts an impressive speed rating of 145, making it one of the fastest options in the Butterfly lineup. Players who thrive on aggressive style and quick exchanges will find this rubber particularly appealing as it allows for rapid execution of shots without the necessity of speed glue. While it excels in executing fast hitters and blocks, it may pose challenges for spin-heavy players due to its short dwell time and low throw angle.

In terms of tackiness, Bryce High Speed registers at 2.1, giving it a moderate grip on the ball for decent spin generation. However, users have noted that it does not produce as much spin as some other rubbers, such as the Tenergy series. As a result, players who heavily rely on spin may find themselves facing limitations when looping. Nonetheless, it offers a unique characteristic—an extremely low margin for error, making it essential for players to have precise footwork and ball contact.

The rubber is categorized as medium weight at approximately 3.5, allowing for a balance of speed and maneuverability. Durable with a durability rating of 7.8, it can withstand the rigors of aggressive play, although some players might find its lifespan limited due to its fast action. For players considering alternatives, Butterfly offers the Tenergy series and other models such as the Bryce Speed, which might cater to those seeking more spin-oriented options. Nevertheless, for aggressive players focused on speed and control, Bryce High Speed remains a compelling choice.

This is my first rubber that I bought when I started to play table tennis. I have used this rubber on my BH and FH on T. Boll Offensive New Wood. I can only say that this rubber is very, very fast with a wood blade. I can only imagine what the feel is like with a carbon blade.

This is not a rubber for beginners or people who want to learn table tennis. From my own experience, it is very hard to learn looping with this rubber because it has a really short dwell time, and the ball hits the net almost always, even if you do your shot correctly. There is a really small error margin, and you have to know what you are doing with this rubber all the time.

However, this rubber is super good for blocking. Blocks are so fast, fast like you are smashing the ball. The rubber is very sensitive to spin but it cannot generate as much spin like T05. It is fun to play with this rubber, but it is an expensive toy.

Pros: Smashing, Blocking
Cons: Looping, control

My verdict: 9! GL all TT players.

Update 26Jun22. I have this rubber on H301 for Rpb. This setup performs much better than on harder composite blades like the YEO7. The speed is sufficient for lethal shots. I struggled to lift backspin on the YEO7, but the H301 provides ample lift. I find this rubber to play more reliably on a more flexible blade. Harder composite blades make this rubber harder to control due to its enormous speed, resulting in either overshooting or hitting the net with a low throw angle. With the H301 setup, it is possible to generate decent spin. Based on these observations, I have revised my rating from 8.3 to 9.3.

One thing that I noticed when I first tried this rubber sheet is that it has a lower throw angle than Tenergy 80. Most of my shots went straight to the net again and again. For those who are familiar with the Tenergy family rubber, they will feel regret spending money on BHS. Anyway, you need more time to get used to this rubber.
