Butterfly Glayzer
Rubber description:
The Butterfly Glayzer is a tensor rubber featuring the “Spring Sponge X” technology. It is characterized by a medium-hard, dense sponge and a highly grippy matte topsheet that possesses a subtle, slight tackiness. It functions as an offensive all-rounder, offering a performance profile that bridges the gap between traditional European tension rubbers and the firmer, more direct feel of professional-grade power rubbers.
Playing Characteristics
- Spin and Dwell: The rubber provides high spin potential, particularly during aggressive top-spin rallies and opening loops. The topsheet is highly consistent, facilitating reliable ball contact for looping and banana flicks. While very effective at generating spin on active strokes, it is reported to be less extreme in spin generation during serves compared to specialized Chinese rubbers.
- Speed and Trajectory: It offers excellent speed with a trajectory that sits slightly above medium. This throw angle supports high-arcing loops while maintaining good directional stability during counter-attacks and smashes.
- Control and Feel: The rubber provides a distinct, firm feel on impact that aids in short-game control and touch. It requires precise technique and correct stroke angles, as it is responsive and has a lively bounce, making it less suitable for passive defensive styles like chopping.
- Durability: The material maintains its playing characteristics consistently over several months of regular use, showing good resistance to degradation.

It is a rubber similar to the Xiom Vega Pro in appearance, hardness, speed, throwing angle, and durability. However, it outperforms the Xiom Vega Pro in ball grip and consistency.

Butterfly Glayzer Review
The Butterfly Glayzer is an excellent choice for players who prefer softer rubbers compared to Chinese or hybrid options. This medium-hard rubber features the innovative Spring Sponge X technology, rated at around 48 degrees. In my opinion, it offers more spin than the Glayzer 09c.
The Glayzer has a softer feel than the Dignics 05, while still feeling firmer than the Butterfly Tenergy 05. Its grippy top sheet ensures consistency when looping and spinning; however, it does not particularly stand out when compared to other rubbers on the market.
Considering its price point, the Glayzer provides outstanding value. I would personally recommend it over the Tenergy series. If you are accustomed to using T64 or T05, you might want to give the Glayzer a try.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the Glayzer.

This fine rubber features a superb grey sponge with a nearly flawless top sheet. I believe this rubber is designed for those who find Tenergy rubbers too expensive and somewhat difficult to play with. It is very similar to Yasaka Rakza 7, which is itself a versatile offensive rubber.
The Glayzer offers excellent directional stability, impressive spin, and high speed. Its throw angle is a notch above medium. The speed is outstanding, and the feel on impact is a blend of European and Chinese rubbers, characterized by a denser sponge.
The short game performance is commendable, providing good control. This rubber will delight many mid-level players due to its all-around performance and reasonable price. Overall, it is a fine rubber from Butterfly that should remain available for years to come.
