I have been playing with this rubber for several months now, and I find it fantastic! I use it on my backhand with a Nittaku Acoustic in 2.1 thickness. It offers very good speed, spin, and control. It is particularly great for the banana flick due to its excellent grip.

My playing style is close to the table, focusing on counterattacks (similar to Harimoto). Therefore, I can’t really comment on how it performs far away from the table, but I assume it excels in that aspect as well.

Another great benefit of this rubber is its durability. After several months of play, I haven’t noticed any decline in its playing characteristics. The price is also reasonable, although I believe there might be other rubbers of similar quality available for an even better price.

I highly recommend this rubber for anyone who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on a Dignics, for example, but still seeks great value for their investment. Cheers, and keep enjoying table tennis!

I received my Glayzer rubber, and it is fantastic! This is my third day playing with it on the backhand of my Viscaria FL. The backhand chiquita is very easy due to its grippiness. The top sheet is a dark red matte, and it is very grippy.

I compare this rubber to Tenergy 64 because the hardness of its top sheet is somewhat similar to T64. The sponge performs like Dignics 05; it is powerful yet easy to control. However, this rubber is not very forgiving for small mistakes. The right angle and correct stroke are essential for optimal performance.

I also tried this rubber on my forehand, and it is equally fantastic—a true topspin machine! I can compare its spin with Rakza 7. However, in terms of serves, it is not as spinny; Battle 2 is much better in that regard. Personally, I prefer this rubber on my backhand.

Here are my ratings:

  • For topspin: 8/10
  • For looping: 9/10
  • For pushes: 10/10 (it adds significant spin to the ball)
  • For punch shots: 10/10 (similar to Donic S2)
  • For smashes: 10/10

This rubber is 2.1 mm thick, and I find it very easy to control. I believe it is better than the Tenergy line. However, this rubber is not suitable for chopping since it is too bouncy for that style of play. The bounce is similar to Rozena, but the sheets are different. It has an excellent grip with a slight tackiness to it.

This fine rubber features a superb grey sponge with a nearly flawless top sheet. I believe this rubber is designed for those who find Tenergy rubbers too expensive and somewhat difficult to play with. It is very similar to Yasaka Rakza 7, which is itself a versatile offensive rubber.

The Glayzer offers excellent directional stability, impressive spin, and high speed. Its throw angle is a notch above medium. The speed is outstanding, and the feel on impact is a blend of European and Chinese rubbers, characterized by a denser sponge.

The short game performance is commendable, providing good control. This rubber will delight many mid-level players due to its all-around performance and reasonable price. Overall, it is a fine rubber from Butterfly that should remain available for years to come.

Butterfly Glayzer Review

The Butterfly Glayzer is an excellent choice for players who prefer softer rubbers compared to Chinese or hybrid options. This medium-hard rubber features the innovative Spring Sponge X technology, rated at around 48 degrees. In my opinion, it offers more spin than the Glayzer 09c.

The Glayzer has a softer feel than the Dignics 05, while still feeling firmer than the Butterfly Tenergy 05. Its grippy top sheet ensures consistency when looping and spinning; however, it does not particularly stand out when compared to other rubbers on the market.

Considering its price point, the Glayzer provides outstanding value. I would personally recommend it over the Tenergy series. If you are accustomed to using T64 or T05, you might want to give the Glayzer a try.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the Glayzer.

It is a rubber similar to the Xiom Vega Pro in appearance, hardness, speed, throwing angle, and durability. However, it outperforms the Xiom Vega Pro in ball grip and consistency.
