Butterfly Yuki
Rubber description:
Butterfly Yuki is a sticky rubber designed specifically for beginners and recreational play. It is typically found on pre-assembled Butterfly paddles, offering a controlled, stable platform for players learning the fundamental strokes of the sport.
Performance Characteristics
- Speed and Control: This rubber is characterized by its lower speed, which prioritizes accuracy and ball placement over raw power. The softer sponge provides a forgiving feel, making it well-suited for mastering basic drives, pushes, and counters.
- Spin and Surface: Featuring a tacky topsheet out of the box, it allows players to generate a respectable amount of spin for developmental purposes. While the initial tackiness can diminish with heavy use or over time, it remains effective for teaching the mechanics of brushing the ball.
- Suitability: It is highly recommended for players transitioning from inexpensive, generic equipment who are looking to develop proper technique. The rubber provides enough feedback to facilitate learning but is generally considered too slow for competitive, high-level topspin looping or aggressive attacking styles.

This is a very beginner rubber, squarely in the recreational range. It is suitable only for your first recreational racket. However, once you decide to play more seriously, you’ll need a rubber that offers much more spin.

I regret purchasing this racket from “star_sports” on eBay. Please do not buy from them. This has been a disappointing experience for me.
Eight years ago, I bought an “LKT Recoil” table tennis racket in Toronto for $20, and it is significantly better than the new “Butterfly Yuki” that I received from “star_sports.”
I have no judgment for other eBay sellers, but I strongly advise against this one.

This rubber is an excellent choice for beginners. I stored it in a box for five years, and it is only just now starting to lose its grip.
