I regret purchasing this racket from “star_sports” on eBay. Please do not buy from them. This has been a disappointing experience for me.

Eight years ago, I bought an “LKT Recoil” table tennis racket in Toronto for $20, and it is significantly better than the new “Butterfly Yuki” that I received from “star_sports.”

I have no judgment for other eBay sellers, but I strongly advise against this one.

This rubber is an excellent choice for beginners. I stored it in a box for five years, and it is only just now starting to lose its grip.

This rubber comes with Butterfly premade rackets. Depending on the version, the sponge varies.

In the BTY TBC201, there is a super soft sponge that lacks speed but offers a lot of control. On the other hand, I had the TBC401, and the Yuki version in this racket is the perfect starter rubber. It provides a good amount of speed and control, featuring a tacky and medium grip topsheet that allows you to generate a significant amount of spin.

This rubber is the perfect choice for beginners, as it comes on Butterfly premeds. It provides everything needed to learn the basics of table tennis. Compared to cheaper $5 bats, this rubber offers a definite step up in quality.

The Yuki rubber is relatively light and provides some spin while being control-biased, which helps you consistently get your shots in. It is tacky enough to pick up a ball on the bottom, although this tackiness tends to fade after a couple of weeks.

Overall, it is suitable for fairly flat, accuracy-based play, including drives, pushes, and smashes. Once you reach the stage where you start executing topspin loops, you’ll know it’s time to upgrade.

Additionally, it comes with a bat cover to help keep the rubber in good condition. I found that it lasted me 2-3 years of casual play.

I bought this rubber on a pre-made bat after I had learned to play with a faster and harder rubber. I was hoping for added control at the same speed I was used to playing.

This rubber is on the softer end, making it easy to control counters and pushes. It is good for slow looping; however, I haven’t yet found a stroke angle that works for aggressive forehand strokes.

I would definitely recommend this rubber if it is being used on a pre-made bat that costs under $30. It is particularly suitable if your skill level currently consists of the vast majority of your shots being backhand pushes, as you can develop your strokes at a low speed.

I got this rubber for my first paddle. It provided a good amount of spin for its price, but it was slow in terms of speed.

Overall, it is a solid choice for a beginner rubber.

I loved this rubber! It helped me improve my game and enhance my style of playing. It is extremely useful for beginners as well.

This rubber was used on my first paddle, the premade Butterfly TBC-402. I remember the racket being very slow and suitable for beginners only. I played with it for a month or two before it became too slow for serious play. I would recommend getting this rubber only if you have never played table tennis before! :-)

I am not going to try to get technical with this review. As a newcomer to the sport of table tennis, I do not have a lot of knowledge about some of the high-end equipment. However, what I do know is that transitioning from a cheap, probably less than five dollars, premade racket to a Butterfly Shakehand 401 FL that comes pre-assembled with Yuki Rubber is an amazing experience.

I have been playing with this bat for the past week, and all I can say is wow! I can’t wait to try other equipment to see what happens. It does take some adjusting to get used to the extra weight of the racket, especially when coming from the light, flimsy-feeling club/MWR paddle. However, after experimenting with it, I have found that I can generate quite a bit of spin. Nothing sounds better than the “click” sound I get with the 401 when I hit a hard forehand or smash.

This rubber is great for someone just starting to play table tennis, and I would recommend it for anyone.

Oh, and congratulations to Butterfly for making a very aesthetically pleasing bat! My first bat has been awesome in every way so far. If something happens that shows this racket is not up to snuff, I will edit my review and update it.

This is a very beginner rubber, squarely in the recreational range. It is suitable only for your first recreational racket. However, once you decide to play more seriously, you’ll need a rubber that offers much more spin.
