Donic Coppa JO Platin

Rubber description:

The Donic Coppa JO Platin is a premium table tennis rubber that caters to attackers who thrive on power and precision. Designed with a moderate tackiness, this rubber strikes an ideal balance between speed and spin, boasting impressive ratings of 98 for speed and 90 for spin. It features a sponge hardness of 5.1, which contributes to a lively feel during play, and excellent performance in mid-distance attacks, making it a favorite among aggressive players.

The rubber is categorized as medium weight, at 3.7, enhancing its usability without compromising a player’s agility. Players appreciate the speed and spin capabilities; however, it is noted that it may not perform optimally for topspinning heavy backspin balls, which might deter some spin-oriented players. The Coppa JO Platin excels in blocking and counter-attacking, allowing players to maintain control while executing powerful shots. While it performs well for loops and drives, some users report it may lose its spin potential relatively quickly, with concerns about durability after a couple of months.

Despite its drawbacks, the Coppa JO Platin remains a solid choice, especially for those focusing on aggressive gameplay. Alternatives in the market, such as the popular Tenergy series, offer different characteristics; however, many players stay loyal to the Coppa JO for its unique blend of speed, spin, and control in mid-distance attacks. It’s an excellent option for players who prioritize quick play and active countering over sustained topspin rallies.

Excellent rubber with potential for more spin while maintaining its other characteristics.

Hello,

I used this rubber, red, max, in backhand (BH) in my amultart and H-WL. It’s a good rubber for returns, blocks, counters, and smashes (in forehand - FH). If you can smash in BH, you’ll have great, absolute dominance.

However, it’s not suitable for topspinning an underspin ball. It makes my opponent feel that they have a strong underspin. Lol. If you loop in BH like me, this might not be appropriate for you. Aside from that, this sheet is awesome.

I’ve seen comments about durability. To address this, just cover it with T-foil and apply WD40 every month. Mine is four months old, yet still plays very well.

It loses its spin rather quickly.
