Nittaku Genextion
Rubber description:
This rubber is a high-performance hybrid designed specifically for all-out offensive play. It features a sophisticated dual-sponge construction that acts as a significant step up in speed and power from traditional professional rubbers, providing a distinct “glue effect” feel. It is characterized by its high energy return, allowing players to easily engage the blade’s power for forceful drives, smashes, and aggressive counter-attacks.
Playing Characteristics
- Speed and Power: The rubber excels at generating high velocity and heavy power, particularly during loops and mid-distance shots. It is highly effective for players who prefer a direct, offensive game rather than soft touch-play.
- Spin and Grip: It offers high spin potential across all strokes, making it highly effective for serving and heavy looping. The surface features a degree of tackiness, providing ample grip to produce significant ball rotation.
- Control and Dwell: While powerful, the rubber remains controllable for intermediate to advanced players. Its harder sponge provides a solid, direct feel, though it may require a higher level of technique to engage the sponge fully on harder blades.
- Handling: The rubber is slightly heavy and functions best when the player applies sufficient energy to penetrate the surface layer. It performs reliably in the short game and excels at aggressive pushing, though it is clearly engineered to prioritize speed and depth over passive, soft-touch shots.

Oh boy, what a rubber. I ordered the red super thick version. I paired it with J&H C55 on the FH on Yinhe V-14 Pro with the intention to play BH. After a few sessions, I got frustrated that my balls just wouldn’t land well, not on the FH nor on the BH. The C55 is too sophisticated for my FH level (except for the short game) and the Genex is maybe too hard for my BH level, so I decided to turn the racket and what a nice surprise I’ve had. Extremely good control, supreme spin when serving, powerful shots perfectly landed on the table, even chops from middle distance. It does it all. And the C55 is not so bad for BH, being a little soft and controlled. I think GeneXtion really deserves its name, being an evolved version of G1 for offensive players. I have a G1 on the FH and BH on an acoustic and yes, maybe more control there, but it’s another step up if you want killer shots and a solid game a few steps back away from the table.

This rubber is fascinating, with good technique the ball shot is a missile, the effect it gives to the ball is incredible, when you defend at the right angle it is unstoppable. Very satisfied with this product, I recommend it to intermediate players and above.
